i love how they were confused by cold calling taboo but then immediately talked about the taboo of coming to one’s house unannounced. gen z isn’t old enough to own their own houses yet! calling is obtrusive when it’s the fastest way to access you as a person in real time. I’m not even gen z and I can understand that concept just as a cultural development of modern society
As a Gen Z'er nothing makes me more anxious than receiving a call from someone I know, let alone from an unknown number. Unless it's an emergency, mama there are multiple ways to get a hold of me, but call just triggers something.
I think showing up to someone's house unannounced is much more universally intrusive and it's not generational, like I feel that even before the telephone people would usually send a note or something before showing up at people's house. The anxiety about talking on the phone is much more baffling, i can understand Trixie and Katya's confusion, I'm a younger millennial and even people my age have that and it's so weird to me, to me its more about the rising prevalence of anxiety disorders than a normal cultural development

I remember Katya saying that she doesn't like anybody to call her "Brian" except for her closest friends. Everyone who meets her should address her as Katya, or just ask her how she'd like to be addressed.
I think that really goes for 90% of drag queens. Just- if you don’t know them personally, don’t call them by their legal name or use he/him pronouns. Apart from those who explicitly stated they want to (Like Jaremi/Phi Phi). From what I’ve heard, it makes most of them uncomfortable.

@@erinmoore9681 - I went by the pronoun that Trixie and others have used. As far as I know, Katya has made no indication that "they" is her preferred pronoun. She's even said that she doesn't necessarily consider herself transgender or gender fluid, she states that she simply doesn't have a label for it -- other than that (to her) it's all drag. Maybe in the future, this will change, but for now she/her is the way strangers should formally address Katya.

When I visited grandma’s house, I was just chilling eating snacks in the kitchen and suddenly the neighbor spoke from directly behind me. Phone calls are underrated
I love giving and receiving spontaneous calls. If I can't pick up, I will just call back when I have time. I will only text beforehand if I know the person might be working or might be otherwise busy.
Yea im a millenial ('92) so im kind of not part of this, but my family and their traumas and addiction struggles trained me to expect every phone call (especially at odd hours) to be a call from jail or an emergency and theyre like wandering the highway fucked up or st or need to get picked up from the next town over. None of them are Gen Z or even millenials besides me, but their asses only call if its dire so no shit I dont wanna get a surprise phone call
