Helvetii were actually a tribe of Gaul. One of the most fierce among them, and got subdued by Caesar during the Gallic war.

That invasion point is a bit vicious : the city next door, the buildings removed, the house, the creator of the map obviously knew and planned it haha

In general I love Caesar III more than Pharaoh, but the thing I really dislike is how easy it is in Caesar III to produce iron and wood, needing only a random rock or a single tile of woods. I really liked the Pharaoh approach of specific mountain tiles and actually cutting down the wood that slowly regrows. It makes these ressources much more scarce instead of being able to max out productions on a small piece of map.

You can always use warehouses getters who don't need roads to fetch stuff like weapons and bring them to the entrance to be sold to speed it up, where there's tons of room if things like the barracks are moved around. You could also fill a warehouse with wheat there as well.
"Adatepe" is actually a Turkish place name meaning "island hill". Its pronunciation is something like "uh-duh-tepeh". It is famous for its altar of Zeus.

I think Augustus devs, should add decorative tile to show invasion points on maps (like signpost in stronghold).
Pile of swords or something like that (kinda place where was battle before, sounds reasonable). People will knew invasion points anyway, but there is no way to understand where they will be without just playing map. Also on maps without invasions no such tiles, so it also make it obvious to understand - such map will not have invasions.
I like this idea, but at the same time I feel it should be a toggle on/off option... if someone wants to try a map blind, it would give them the option, but if someone wants to try to plan out a settlement, they still could. good QoL option there!

The joke about Helvetica font is actually correct, believe it or not! The Helvetii are Swiss - well proto Swiss is more like it... A Celtic tribe that inhabited the Swiss plateau. The latin name for modern day Switzerland is Confoederatio Helvetica, or short Helvetia. The font Helvetica was designed in 1957 by typeface designer Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann, the president of the Haas'sche Schriftgiesserei (Haas Type Foundry) in Basel, Switzerland.
However, the map used here would not fit the typical location of the Helvetii - this maps seems to be in Romania
You should set your granary that sells wheat at the dock to accept import/exports from boats. Throughout the video you weren't maximizing your sells because your warehouse wasn't full enough to sell 12 wheat to the docked boats. They would buy 7 or 8 at best.
Your supply post also takes away from that granary, therefore wheat is always delivered to the granary first instead of the warehouse. Your warehouse would be better used to only store excess wheat once that granary is full. Your dock workers would get the wheat from the granary first, so would your supply post. Eventually that granary will resupply itself through the farms, and the warehouse that will take the excess wheat to the granary when room is available. So your wheat sells will be maximized all the time because your granary will always have more then 12 units of wheat every time a boat docks because it would take from the granary first instead of the warehouse.
Moving your dock, warehouse and granary more towards the middle of that farm land with the farms on the outskirt would better to maximize the area.
I also foresee problems with the natives where your ship bridge is. Moving the bridge lower to avoid the natives will solve this, plus the bridge will be cheaper.

New here, and I gotta ask, when you're placing the walker buildings, you get to see the path they walk and how far they go. Is that a feature of Caesar 3 or a mod? Cause having to memorise the walking distances of all those guys in the Emperor was my biggest hurdle.
That's part of the newer unstable build of Augustus, the modded version of the game.
I wonder how the creator put those wall(tower) on the map editor, is it a new thing from unstable build?
It's still a limitation right now but the Augustus team is working on it. For this map, it's shared as a save file. That's the workaround now for maps that need prebuilt things.

I'm playing with Augustus, a modded version of the game. That side panel info is an option you can turn on in Augustus.

Can someone please show me how to enable on the game the blue blocks of pathing for any construction. My game doesnt exibit the hauses that any given construction cover.
It's a new option in the unstable build. The devs keep adding things to the game, so the unstable build changes frequently.
Any idea when part 2 is coming out?
I'm gonna try for tomorrow but this weekend at latest.

How do you get the blue road range indicator that shows the building's walker max. distance? I've been looking in the menu, and hotkeys, I cannot find it. I run Augustus 3.2.0.
It's in the newer unstable build. They keep adding stuff to the unstable build, so it gets new things all the time.

kinda sucks that you have to be subbed in order to watch back the vod of this. also not to mention that you dont have Twitch chat on screen is kinda annoying cause you start answering random people without us on youtube being able to see it
Yeah I understand the problem. The VOD on Twitch is basically this, this video isn't really edited. Twitch is early access to the video, so that's a reward for subs. For Twitch chat, I generally try to read out what they said. 95% of chat would have no relevance to the TH-cam video, so it annoys most people if I keep it here.
Honestly, I don't envy you in judging the 3 maps you've showcased *so far*. The Bridge, the Desert Ruins and this Wilderness have all been maps I am going to enjoy playing - especially seeing what I can do different from what you have done! Tiny road tweaks can lead to such different possibilities, and your knowledge of Caesar is way beyond mine. To be honest, I think I subbed to you about 7ish years ago... yeah, I'm an easily distracted student. Have been for over 40 years. But I did recently repurchase Caesar 3 and got Pharaoh: A New Error because of your vids!

Hey! I'm glad you're enjoying it. It is really hard judging these maps, they're all well beyond many maps that have come before and they're designed with Augustus in mind, so it's a whole new layer to consider. I just love how maps are much more naturalistic now.
