At max volume the JBL does lose a little bass output, while the W-King retains it's bass signature for the most part to max volume. The JBL will get a bump in bass and volume when plugged in, while the W-King appears to play the same plugged in or off battery. That's pretty standard for W-King speakers.

I got mine today and for the price is a pretty good speaker. It gets LOUD and BOOMY. Considering the BB3 MRSP is US$499 and keeping diminishing returns in mind the X20 is an outstanding deal. Is it a BB3 Killer? No, but it's not Killed by BB3 either because these are different speakers with different strengths with the X20 coming out as the undisputable winner in value.

I just got the X20 I don’t have the BB3 but the X20 is the best portable speaker I ever tried I can hear all the instruments clearly. Especially when I’m high I feel like I’m at the concerts that I went to

I own both speakers & I can say this much. When you place each one in the corner of a room, the JBL puts out the deeper & louder bass.

@@Vulcan5911 Yes, even with the bass boost on. I did have the BB3 plugged in, which gives it 180 watts. It's the fairest way when comparing these two speakers. In battery or portable mode, it's only getting 136 watts. The X20 is rated at 200 watts. So if you hear comments being made that the X20 is better than the JBL, this is probably why.
Don't get me wrong, I like the X20, it has good sound quality, with detailed mids & highs. The one thing that I don't particularly care for is the fact that you have to engage the bass boost in order to get deep bass out of it. Once you do this, it muddies up the mids & highs, forcing you to use the 11 band EQ to fix this issue. I personally feel like the X20 is more well suited for outdoors due to it's detailed & loud mids & highs with stronger mid bass opposed to low deep bass.
The JBL BOOMBOX 3 excels indoors next to a wall or in the corner of a room.Their speaker setups are similar, but the bass boost & crossover design & or frequencies are different.

To me, for rock music, the w-king sounds better. Perhaps due to a more dominant midrange, as you say.

In my opinion what I heard the BB3 has a little lower bass, in higher volumes it falls behind but it lacks mids a little bit and the soundstage is not that open like on the W-king. W-king is a little louder has better mids, soundstage and the bass don't fall that behind at higher volumes and I think the W-king has more accurate, faster sound. Maybe it has a faster filter idk but it sounds like it's not that warm like jbl but the sound is more in time. Price different wise i think the w-king is the winner but when the jbl is plugged in i think it's a little bit better. Just my opinion😊

I really couldn't make out much difference with respect to the low frequencies, I couldn't hear any difference, other than I don't know why Jay doesn't like to start or use in the speaker comparisons, the bass ranges, total and complete, that you may have at your disposal. On the other hand, if I was able to perceive, unheard of, more clarity in the mid-high frequencies... I am not very sure that the W-KING X20 has an unfair price, I believe that this brand has done enough merits to provide us with Excellent quality at truly fair prices, I believe it IS WORTH WHAT IT COSTS. Likewise, thank you Jay for these truly spectacular comparisons, highly coveted by lovers of the brands that best represent the best audio systems that currently exist in the world. Thank you very much for these programs.
The JBL is great I know as I'm a JBL fanboy, but to my ears the W-King's bass output is higher, but I'm not sure it's necessarily deeper or not!

With the BB3 plugged in, it’s not even close. JBL is better for indoors near a wall, & the X20 is better suited for outdoors or outside, where the mids & highs shine through with ample bass.
There is a slight bump plugged in, but it's not like a game changer or anything.

Can you tell me if the W-King X20 has latency in its AUX IN, if you connect a musical instrument there, is it possible to play the instrument connected to the AUX IN, without latency? I know that this model already has a LINE IN for Guitar, but I would like to see if the AUX IN works without latency. I've already tried it on JBL and it doesn't work, JBL's AUX IN has a lot of latency and it's impossible to use it to play an instrument.
Yeah, I never use the bass boost, because it’ll force you to go into the adjustable 10 band EQ driving yourself crazy, trying to find the appropriate settings to fix or compensate for it. I’m not a sound engineer.

I stopped listening to my x10 after I got a Motion Boom plus. I fully charged my x10 and left it in the trunk of my car for a long time. When I tried to power it up, it was dead.
The X20 doesn’t put out very much bass. I just recently purchased one, & repeatedly played with EQ presets, as well as continuously adjusting 10 band EQ.
I own the JBL Boombox 3, & this speaker doesn’t even come close. It does get really loud, but I’d only use it for outdoors only, due to the lack of bass.

@@NojdaMannenReal Exactly, especially at louder volumes up to 70% the WKING cannot compete with the JBL. That’s why it’s considerably more expensive. The WKING sounds good around 50% or so, but after that, the bass fades away.

@@Unkown18346 It gets very loud & holds its sound very well at 80-85 % volume. If you decide to use the bass boost however, you’ll have to tinker with the custom EQ to get acceptable sound because it muddies the mids & highs.

I think the JBL overall will be a little louder and through most of the volume scale, have a little more bass output. The W-King has the strengths I mentioned and I really like the overall sound and capability to use their app EQ. This is only the second speaker, that I'm aware of, compatible with the W-King app that came out last year. If buying one the W-King would be a lot less $$ and is right in the ballpark overall of the JBL. I would have no problem taking the X20 on the go....as long as I didn't have to carry it long distances. It's a heavy sucker! lol
@@JaysStraightUpReviews Both speakers are so heavy. That's why I returned my X20. I never owned the Boombox 3, but did try one that belongs to a friend. So I stuck with the Motion Boom Plus. Granted, it can't really hang with the X20, but it's a feather by comparison. And now that the Boom 2 Plus is out and is still relatively light, it might be the near perfect trade-off.
@@markwexy1621 Well the X20 does have a shoulder strap. The Boom 2 Plus is lighter, so better for the noodle-armed guys. Just FYI, returning a boombox due to it being too heavy deducts one point off your man card. Too many violations and it gets revoked. 😂

lol i looked at the db meter of the wking and at 80 percent i saw it hit 102 db and when you made comparisons between the boom plus and boom2 the boom 2 hit the same db at 100 percent volume but i just realized it was different song🤣
W-King X20 punches harder with a more compressed sound. The Boombox sounds wayyy cleaner overall tho. X20 wins in the bang for buck category. BB3 is still king.
One thing I am curious about is when Bluetooth speakers are paired in stereo and aux input is available. Can you use the aux input in Bluetooth stereo?

Wking is better with the highs and its bass is almost just as good as the bb3. For the money DEFINITELY the X20 kills the bb3! Imo.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews maybe the w king has a 200 watt amp. Not sure if they are claiming that on battery or plugged in. the drivers could be less efficient than the jbl’s. To me, when watching the db meter at 100 percent volume it seemed to be fairly close. The rock song on the Jbl peaked 3 db more than the w king. Other songs seemed to be closer. The Jbl on battery power is supposed to be 136 watts. It just seems like the w king having an extra 64 watts, should be a little bit louder than the Jbl.
Great review the only thing i take from this is the x20 needs 100 hrs on it then re review have a T11 I use it every day for 6 hrs a day the low end has improved a lot especially sub 60htz treble is smother

Even in large home subwoofers, where if any difference would be had it would be with these, even after many hours of use there is no noticeable difference in performance. Now with these small boombox speakers the chance of anything sounding different many hours later is even less of a possibility. But if you want to think a speaker needs 100 hours it to magically make it start sounding better, more power to ya. 😲 A speaker will be loosened up within minutes or less and won't have any significant difference in how it performs 100 hours later.

I have the wking d9, when it was a good option, but I heared the bugani m83 that i gifted and gpt jealous and investigated, now the king is Tribit, the d9 is like a cheap speaker compared to the wking, I mean the clarity, the bass clarity, deep bass etc, its a delicia to hear the tribit.

It's hilarious to watch the JBL Zealots (no Zealot brand pun intended) going crazy about something that doesn't generate any kind of personal benefit to them. Competition is good for the market guys, it pushes the manufacturer to innovate and provide better value to us. The X20 is very close and beats the BB3 in some areas, such as value, soundstage and usb-charging. Had them been at the same price point i'd go for the BB3 when it comes to comparison due to the VERY SLIGHT preference in low end bass and i just like the design a tad better, but it is not an advantage as wide as the fanboys picture it by any means.
It's a closer result than even I expected. The X20 is legit.

Well the X20 looks like a larger version of the X10, which came out a few years ago..they did add a handle to the X20, but still have the shoulder strap like the X10.

I'm still with Boombox 3. Just update my speaker, and it's quite balance now at max volume. Bass still remains powerful at max volume, the cancelation is abit less now at max volume, not as bad as what firmware currently running at your speakers. Also Encore breaks this thing.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews alot of Boombox 3 videos now, they updated their firmware, it becomes powerful and get rid of some of the compression. There's plenty of Boombox 3 video nowadays, that vibrate objects at max volume due to overpressured bass. It has heavily boosted bass. At max volume, the upper bass backups the deep bass, so should retains more power now at max volume than past firmwares. I can prove in with alan ross measurements, and he said that it has more upper bass than even the WiFi, the WiFi simply start's to fade at 75% volume. The Boombox 3 regular remains powerful. No way that it does have massive fades at bass at max volume.

@@megakebab1702 Well if that were the case of W-King using JBL components from a speaker far more expensive, then how is that a bad thing? Tribit used Boombox 2 drivers in their Stormbox Blast, but I didn't see anybody complaining about that.😜 And as far as the mid-range drivers, where can those exact ones be found for $10. And regardless of price, what is wrong with them? I'm not hearing any issues with them at all. You are kind of sounding like a disgruntled JBL fanboy who is butt-hurt that W-King has made a speaker that is comparable to the much more expensive JBL. 😲
