Now that looks like a lot of fun. From the bench at 200yds, that is a very accurate rifle to be in that condition. When it come to shooting 10 rounds in succession with no padding, you got a lot stamina. I have shot many Mosins and my shoulder paid a high price for the fun of doing it lol. Great video Cat. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Shooting benched/prone with large calibers always make my shoulder sore; I really feel it the next day! I can do 60 rounds or so and I have to stop, but at TK my shoulder was fine, even on the next day, shot about 80 rounds that match - most fun I've had with bolt-actions :) , might possibly bring it again next month! :)
You've got good taste in weapons. I've got a Russian M44 carbine myself but still haven't fired it. It was missing some parts and the trigger needed some work but so far I've been able to restore most of it and was even able to put a folding bayonet on it. The only thing missing was a bayonet charge at the end. Overall, an excellent video! 😎👍
Thank you! They are my favorite Mosins! Awesome that you are restoring your M44!!! Sometimes eBay may have the missing parts or even Numrich. I'm on the lookout for a 91/59, missed out buying one at a decent price last year; really regret it!!! :) Thanks for watching!! Appreciate you!
@Hang In There Cat will do. I've got all the parts already but just need to mount the rear sight. It was missing it, the previous owner put a cheap red dot on it that was loose so it didn't hold zero. v_v And they either nickel plated or chromed it. 🤮🤮🤮
@Hang In There Cat thank you for the kind words. Yes I'm almost finished restoring it. I'll keep the nickle/chromed look for now. And another weird thing is that they put a bent/sniper bolt (its chromed as well) on it instead of the standard straight mosin bolt. Bubba sure has some weird ideas for their beater bun.

Heck yeah. I got mine for 150. My mom wanted me to stop so she can snoop around the thrift store. I was pissed but stopped. Saw a sign that said ask for rifle sales info. So I asked, then I looked at what they had. I asked about the Mosin and he said 150 and it’s yours. I’m glad I stopped. One of my favorite rifles. Came with the bayonet and all.
Well done! I really like that practical shooting style stages. Good and fast stripper clip loading. Mosins can sure jam interesting ways. Better have screwdriver in your belt :)
That is some absolutely impressive shooting you did. Bullets in the same hole on the 25 yard zero too! Here's a true story you might be interested in. My family member was MACV-SOG in Vietnam before the surge and stayed until after all the draftees had gone home. His first confirmed kill was patrolling in the jungle on point when he and a vietcong reached the top of a hill at the same time and surprised eachother. My uncle was faster on the draw with his M1 carbine because the vietcong lookout was dragging a rusty muddy Mosin nagant rifle behind him in the dirt by the sling. Could have been a Type 53 and I bet yours went through something similar in Vietnam
Thank you, I've been really impressed how well my T53 shoots! But man, Wow! What a story! Puts a perspective on how they treated their rifles! I'm glad your Uncle was quicker and came out of that! Thanks for sharing!
Hey nice type 53, i have one as well from 1954. Its my only mosin in my collection but it is Pristine and like yours the rifling is Immaculate. Love shooting it, i have a tanker muzzle on it to compensate for the fireball theses carbines make. But anyways, happy shooting!
Great video! Took alot to go up against those semis but I understand the challenge was to onesself! I have two T53's. Put one in an Archangel Stock with 10 round magazines. Doesn't match my M39 Finnish but capable of killing anything invthe lower 50 states. That 200 yard shooting was pretty damn good! Semper Fi
Compared to using the Mosin's safety, leaving the bolt open was faster/easier in my experience when moving positions, especially for TK. I also wasn't concerned with time, as I knew I would be a lot slower anyways with a bolt-action; I just wanted to finish the stages completely and not take a penalty for not hitting/neutralizing a target. Thanks for watching!
@@HangInThereCat, Using a safety is also a waste of time IMO, your trying to get the best time right? Additionally, when your using a gun to combat someone you’re not using the safety. Why would you, it takes time to actuate. Yeah a bolt gun is inherently slow, that’s why we developed semiautomatic weapons! But all in all, I enjoyed the video.
Thank you! Will remake my C7A2 clone video in this series. I recently got a genuine Elcan C79 optic for it, still getting use to it. Thanks for watching!
@@robber1231 Found on eBay out all places for $500, tritium is dead but still functional, it's the eye relief I'm having a hard time with when shooting, just need more time to get use to. I've seen them on Armslist as well, but way more expensive. Good luck on your search!
Ebay and CMP Forum / Marketplace. Original Russian made ones IMHO the best! Tried Bulgarian Circle 10 and they worked too, but not as quick smooth as Russian clips. Good luck!

these worn rifle and handguns are my favorites because they likely saw service and have an amazing story to tell which we will never hear😢
