I think you made the right decision. If you have a good strong colony, it does not take long for them to build back out.

I think so too. It also is going to allow me to use a few foundationless frames.

If it isn't too bad, the bees will clean it up.

I used to be terrified of Mr. Yuk commercials as a kid.

the clorox soaked into the frame has no ill effects on the bees? Thank you

None that I have seen. This was done in the fall, so it was a fairly long time before the bees got to it.

Good question, Kyle Spray & Sammi Li. The foundations are plastic, with a honeycomb shape embossed on them. They are coated with bees wax. My intentions at first was to scrape all the wax off of the comb, and then clean them with bleach water. However, after seeing them, they were really too far gone. There were not very many frames like this, and next year I can let the bees draw their own comb. Thanks for the question, and thanks also for watching the video.

I'm just throwing the three frame I have in the garbage. Not worth the contamination for trouble to clean.

I ended up doing that with several as well. The bees will clean it up, but I didn't want to give that extra work to them for the worst of it.
