Dear Paul - Hi - We are happy that you enjoyed it! We loved creating anything with Turner! Thank you very much for watching and for writing to us! It means so much to us to hear from you. All the best, Connie and David
Hello, Oscar! Hi! Thank you so much. As you may have noticed, we love all explorations of Turner and his work. We are delighted you enjoyed it and we loved hearing from you. Kind regards, David and Connie
Thank you, dylanduke1075, we really appreciate your generous comment! Turner is a favorite artist of ours and we loved seeing the places that he painted in Venice. Thank you for watching and writing! Kind regards, Connie and David
@@DavidDunlopSimmonsArt thanks for the response. Could I make a suggestion? Would it be possible to do a lesson on how to push/exaggerate colour and move away from strict interpretation? Like for example, how do you decide on colours when trying to make a scene more interesting than just copying precisely from your reference. I really don’t think there’s a lot on TH-cam on that topic
Thank you, Sandradonofrio! Turner is one of our favorite painters and so inspiring. We are really happy that you enjoyed it! We have loved creating these programs and it is very meaningful that you took the time to write to us! Good luck with your painting! We would love it if your would subscribe to our channel - it helps us make additional programs. Kind regards, David and Connie
Thank you so much David and Connie for that wonderful video. I recently painted some inspired by Turner oil paintings for an Italian restaurant in Tokyo. In 10 minutes you cram in so much information about his style and techniques. Some historians say he used a lot of faster drying tempura for the impastos for him to come back and glaze over the transparent paints. Glazing is so much fun, like you say it’s time travel doing these kind of pictures. Much appreciated all the best from Tokyo James

I started painting about 2 years ago. I saw a Turner at a museum three months ago and was blown away by the light in the painting and how he captured it. This video is wonderful in explaining how he did what he did in theory and practice. Incredibly inspiring and the final painting was gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent!
Dear longhorngal - Thank you so much for such wonderful, generous comments. We really love creating these programs and it was of course amazing to be in Venice. Thanks as always for posting these. I had not seen this one before (it is dawning on me that I am really only familiar with the first series, not the second one). John Ruskin was mentioned a couple of times, I recall that in the movie about Turner from a decade or so back Ruskin was kind of made fun of. I wonder what the reason was, since he seems to be highly regarded even today.
Hi, StephenMarkTurner - It is great to see you again! We are happy that you can now watch Season Two here on our channel. We have Season Three ready to go except for the production funding! It is a strange world! Yes, I think that John Ruskin has gone through many different stages of consideration. Kind regards, David and Connie
Wow, absolutely beautiful! May I ask,,, what brand is that azurite paint and what is the colour called on its chart (or the pigment) Thanks, ? I'd be very grateful as I've looked at a number of paint brands and cant find a match 🙂
