Grout lines, what is the right size for your tile Every tile job has to include a grout line between the tiles, picking the right size grout width is very important. The wrong width will make an otherwise nice tile job look bad. When deciding on a grout line there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration, you don't just pick a size and go with it. You have to determine the size of the grout spacing by the size shape and uniformity of the tile. If the tile you are installing is rectified, then a narrow grout space is a good option, however narrow grout lines may not be a good choice for tiles that are only sorted by caliber. Tiles have a dye lot, a gauge and a caliber, these are very important considerations that need to be considered when picking a grout width. Great video. I'll also add that the levelness of the substrate will also ultimately dictate the width of the grout joint.

My 1/16 gas always turns into 1/8 gaps. I can't tiles to squeeze together closer.

:48 Sal are you running grout line (thick mortar) on the floor and tile? How do you keep it out of the grout lines when you tighten down the wedges?
