They are a good idea, I have six installed in the kitchen, office and family room. Problem is; they are WAY under-powered. About a third of the amperage of a decent plug-into-a-receptical charging block. Okay for charging stuff overnight or so, but no good if you forgot to charge your phone and you need a boost before you leave the house.
