  • One step closer, as Jack and I installed the heart of the beast back onto the Chassis and spent way to much time cleaning and painting, the problem was once I started cleaning and painting one part of the motor, it made other parts look worst so I have to clean and paint them too, As well as using Tool Kings Polishing discs and Polishing BUFFING Wheel to make the tappet cover shine, did I over do it on for a 2H diesel?
    Installed new engine mounts and found a number of broken exhaust manifold stud bolts that had to be removed, as well as damaged gaskets that needed replacing, and a long the way I ended up damaging one of the fuel pipes🤔
    So now the FJ40 has a 2H, does that make it a HJ40?

      @40ChannelCruiser  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep I was very happy they came out as Easy as they did, I have been down the road of having very stubborn broken bolts and end up having to drill and tap the entire thing out, stoked I didn't have to go down that road this time, I was spraying them with WD40 every time I walk past over that week. Paid off!

    Nice work mate.. you did the 2H proud, a superb motor. You're going to have to take the injector lines back off again to fit the clamps at various points to support them.. they are super important. If you cant find the injector line you need, let me know I have some spares.

      Thanks you Duncan, Yes as soon as my boy finished putting them on, that was the first thing he said too.🤣 Thanks for the offer too, buying one off Mr Landcruiser.

    Ahhh I notice you have used the same music as I use for my video intro. Great choice.!
    Great to see your kids getting involved. I know no one likes the safety police. I say teach them young. Bare feet anywhere in a workshop is out.
    I’m an old bugger with 10 toes and have my boots to thank for it. I always wear steel caps. I know this is an old video.
    Lots of great tips!
    (So not overkill)

      Thanks Davo, Yes you are right safety should be first! , I spend my whole working day in Steel cap boots, but when I'm home sometimes I find it nice to be free of shoes.
      had a quick look at your channel, some great tips on there mate. Keep it up!

      Thanks for taking a peek at my videos. It’s really hard to stay positive when I usually get around 20 or so views each.
      I’ve had a couple go into the thousands. It comes down to what TH-cam recommends to people.
      I have some catching up to do to see more of your video work.
      I’m impressed by your ability to strip what seems like every nut and bolt and then put it back together again.
      I think many people underestimate this skill. Well done.

    Hi Jayson, I came back to this episode after 3 years.. I remembered looking forward to these episodes during lockdown.
    Which brings me to the present.
    What was the process for cleaning and painting the fuel lines?

    • @40ChannelCruiser
      @40ChannelCruiser  ปีที่แล้ว

      Used a small wire wheel in a drill and carefully cleaned (Don'tuse a wire wheel on grider, found out the hard way), making sure the ends are taped off so nothing gets in the tube. Then clean down with wax and grease remover, etch primer then paint colour of Choice.
      Once dry, blow out with compressed air tube to ensure they are clear.
