The great thing about DGD is that they're just so unique. Everyone of them can play virtuosically, they love to have fun with their music, it's goofy for people who like that, it's funky, they have very serious stuff, and they're just good seeming guys. Also, there's nobody named gavin in the band. As i remember, Jonny craig, the OG singer ( that's a long story) just came up with it one day, and everybody liked it. I think it fits their style, it's just off beat and wierd.
Man of the Year, Philosopher King, and Bloodsucker are all pretty good tracks. Their lead singer Tilian is an absolute beast. If you want to hear him push his absolute limits, check out their track Here Comes The Winner. It's one of my all time favorites of theirs and the vocal performance is just indescribable.
as for live shows, the screamer looks a little harder, but honestly all of them just chill and do their thing. super low energy live shows, but they sound just like the album live in exchange

the song/video is a reference to the singers dad being into scientology. BUT they have a list of songs and animated videos that tell a long story. its almost like a long animated movie pieced out into a set of songs/ videos and yes a lot of their songs have a random change at the end also DGD is often referred to as a genre "swan core" swan is the guitarists last name and is just on a whole other level on his own its might take a few albums to see that but the name fits well

A lot of it is lore/inside jokes that only hardcore DGD fans would really understand. There is a lot more to this band than just music. It took me forever to get fully caught up lol. I still haven't read the graphic novel yet.
