  • Yet another just great scene from Scrubs in episode 14 of season 6. Cox trying to win on Laverne's view of the world but finally understands himself, right before Laverne gets seriously injured in a car accident. The music from Brett Dennen makes this another really touching Scrubs moment.

I love this scene. Dr Cox throughout the entire series thought Laverne was being blinded through her religion/beliefs, ignorant of the realities of the pain and suffering in the world. However, similar to how Cox handles this pain through drinking, Laverne not only sees suffering more than most, she also needs coping with the sufferings of this world and her religion/beliefs help her get to the next day. You can see that Dr Cox truly respect her after this.

What this scene showed is that Dr. Cox and Laverne are very similar in that they both see pain and suffering everyday and wonder "Why?" yet they chose very different paths to deal with this question and pain. Dr Cox understands how much the pain hurts and he drinks his pain away. Laverne processes her pain through her Faith, believing it all happens for a reason. Cox understands that we all have vices, albeit more or less healthy ones, to process pain

After her death, she was supposed to come back on the show as Laverne's twin sister who was her polar opposite. I'm glad that they kept their promise of not writing her out of the show. I don't think i have seen a show that had better music than scrubs. This kind of scenes would be nothing without the music. Scrubs would be just another sitcom without the perfect music they have on every touching scene.

Everytime I hear the phrase unresponsive, I shutdown. My brother died about a month ago and that was the state they found him in. I know it's a common thing medically but it's still fucking me up

I saw Brett Dennen in concert with Jason Mraz. As good as Mr Mraz was, I was wishing Brett could’ve performed the whole night. He’s as good live as he is recorded

She's supposed to be laverne's cousin. It's because she was promised a part in scrubs if it was continued after the 6th season.

Dr. Cox is arrogant, mean, and insensitive. But he also pushed people to be the best versions of themselves in their jobs, apologizes when he goes too far, knows when to back off people, cares deeply about his patients, and is a damn good doctor who I would want treating me, because I know he’s going to be honest, knows what he’s doing, and will do everything he can to help me. He also punched Kelso when he was mercilessly going after Elliot, which was too far even for him. He’s a psychological head case that is afraid to form attachments with anyone, but he has his own way of caring for those around him with whom he respects.

One of the things that make cox great is that he immediately acknowledged it and apologized! I hate religion for my own reasons but this is a very fair point i would never try to argue someone out of
