Official: BN retains Mahkota seat

Barisan Nasional has successfully retained the Mahkota state seat in Johor.
BN candidate Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah secured a decisive victory with 27,995 votes, achieving a majority of 20,648 votes over Perikatan Nasional’s Mohamad Haizan Jaafar, who garnered 7,347 votes.
Election Commission returning officer Azurawati Wahid announced the results at Dewan Tunku Ibrahim Ismail.
She said 339 ballot papers were rejected, while 24 were not accepted.
Voter turnout for the by-election was recorded at 53.84 per cent.
The Mahkota by-election saw a straight fight between Syed Hussien and Haizan.

They look beyond racial sentiments. It's political maturity.
