    Thanks Joel for this walking tour of Hämeenlinna! Yes, you got it, we are quite down to earth. Finns do not waste their hard earned money to luxurious, extravagant things but instead pay taxes to provide their citizens with free health care, free education, subsidized child care and decent public transportation, etc. Nowadays investing in a sustainable future is important as well. All the best for you!

    You should look at the latitudes on the map and not compared to areas which are totally in different latitudes and very different climate.

      Well it's two things. One is that Finland is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe (with 5.5 million people in total), so it would only make sense that you wouldn't see as many people out and about as you would see in most major European cities. Even in Helsinki. Secondly, it also highly depends on the time of day you're out in the city. On weekdays most people are at work until 3-4 pm, so you usually won't see huge crowds of people until later in the afternoon. In the summertime there's usually more people though since many are on vacation.

      Hameenlinna means castle of a skirt, which is nothing even remotely similar to Hämeenlinna.

      @just42tube ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hämeenlinna (Finnish: [ˈhæmeːnˌlinːɑ]; Swedish: Tavastehus; Karelian: Hämienlinna; Latin: Tavastum or Croneburgum) is a city and municipality of about 68,000 inhabitants in the heart of the historical province of Tavastia and the modern province of Kanta-Häme in the south of Finland. Hämeenlinna is the oldest inland city of Finland and was one of the most important Finnish cities until the 19th century. It remains an important regional center. The medieval Häme Castle (also Tavastia Castle; Finnish: Hämeen linna) is located in the city.

      @@just42tube You shouldn't expect foreigners to write the ä and ö letters with umlauts. They don't have them on their keyboards. He knew that that Hämeenlinna has an ä.
