- In this video, Me and Stella Re-Stored and Re-Seasoned a beautiful "Birmingham Stove and Range" cast iron skillet. Other methods had been tried but failed. I hope you enjoy this awesome video.
This is the worst Cast Iron Clean that i have ever attempted. After close to an hour of hard scrubbing, we finally started to notice some progress. #barncamping #castiron #camping #cooking #firepit #castironskillet #campingcooking #castironrestoration.

I love seeing these restorations! Great job as always ✅
😂😂😂 Poor Stella getting blamed. Lol looks good though! ❤
That’s so nice of you to fix that skillet up Tony you always do a great job on all the cast iron 👏👍🙏💙Hi Catherine 👋🏻🩷scatches for Stella and also maybe give Hut Hut a whack or two for me lol🤣🤣🤣be careful might use a glove for that 🤧
@@nikkicheshier1791 thank you my friend Nikki

Looks great Tony. I know your friend is gonna be tickled
The skillet 🍳 looks great. Does Brillo pad 🟰SOS pad? I use them on mine in between times just to give them a good cleaning. Ms. 🐶 has to pace herself I suppose. Maybe you will have to get her a chair to set beside you so she can be a true 🌟‼️🤷♀️ Yes, getting ready for games tonight. Good luck tonight and tomorrow to all your teams!!!
@@PitterPat123 she sits with me. Or on me.
Lol Stella is like a blister shows up after the work is done 😁

I was reading about instead of baking soda add a little bit of salt to help get the rust off just passing along❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@Totgreen60 I’ll try that. People use salt to clean it up after cooking. Instead of soap
Your friend is going to be so proud of that skillet!!
@@edierice5233 I hope so. Did you notice that It is a BSR skillet. It’s like a 130 dollar skillet. And he found it. That’s crazy to me. It’s beautiful now.
@@CampfireCountryside no, I didn't!! How neat and you brought it back to life!! My mom had mostly Griswold's
@@edierice5233 I love Griswold cast iron. So far I don’t have any but it’s a matter of time before I come across some. Thank you for your comments
Nicely done 😊
@@SUZYRIDE thank you my friend
When I read "other pores are open" I nearly spit out my coffee. 🤣🤣
@@LorraineDennison1960 it so hot 🥵. It’s hard to do anything outside.
Hey, Tony! You did a great job on the cast iron skillet. Do you sit down or do you stand while you watch college football? Jason is hilarious when he talks about standing while watching football games on tv. You and Jason are both so funny.
@@pampilgrim2274 I do both. Football 🏈 is very exciting and gets my blood 🩸 pumping
Love the tutorials on the cast iron clean up. I'm not a fan of the heat y'all have so i would have that a fall project. I'm just a whimp I guess. For seasoning the skillets is the hotter temperature better or can it be done lower like at 350?
@@emjustice1158 it hardens the oil you apply. We have always used 450 to 500 degrees just to make it back hard. I’m not sure if 350 is good or not, I’ve never tried lol.
Love your outdoor kitchen. Why did you cook it turned upside down?
@@mdolanot to make extra oil and grease run out. It don’t hurt anything the other way. Sometimes it looks like it’s streaking or a water fall. So I turn it upside down
I have some old cast iron that must have a 1/4-1/2 inch of cooked on char around the lip of the pan. I'm thinking maybe I could put it in my oven on self clean, what do you think?
@@sallydavis6971 that is a great way to clean it. It’s just a lot stinky when it’s burning off. But will clean it up
@@CampfireCountryside thanks! I'm going to wait until I can open all the windows. I got it from my mothers estate 3 years ago. I'm 69 and I remember her using it when I was a child.
@@sallydavis6971 that’s a great story. I love the stories as much as I do cast iron.
So could you theoretically put it in the grill on high heat and burn that extra "love" off the edges? Then clean up any leftovers and season it when it's done? That way, you wouldn't have the odor in the house but you would also save some labor.
@@LewisAcreFarm I’ve never tried to burn off the excess. It would be worth a try.
Where do you buy that elbow grease at? I looked everywhere.
@@judeecole9885 thats good stuff
@@CampfireCountryside I sent my son to the store to get some and he came out and said they don’t sell it lol
@@judeecole9885 that’s good stuff. I bet he was mad
