- An interview with Ben Chapman, one of the last living actors to portray The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954).
Here he speaks about making the film, which actor was originally up for the Creature, and surviving -40 degree temperatures during the Korean War.
Sadly, Ben Chapman passed away February 21, 2008. Nearly six years after this interview.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon can be found on DVD at just about any rental or retail store.
When Ben came on set, Ricou was already getting fitted for the suit. Ben was not the original Creature.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ben in Kentucky. He was nice enough to send me a comforting email when my father passed. A great man and a great actor. God bless him and his family. R.I.P.
Can someone help me remember a film I have been trying to remeber the name of..for 10 years !
All I remember was that it was an old American film 1990's where a bunch of kids had a raft in a lagoon and there was an old metal windmill that when it started turning the water started to erupt and a big monster started to come out....later at the end of the film authorities drain the lagoon to find a big mechanical digger of some sort....PLEASE GOD SOMEONE REMEMBER IT'S DRIVING ME BONKERS !

I'm crazy about this movie,however everytime the creature made an entrance,it brought back my reaction to my Ex's butt.I always found this traumatic.Just listen to the music,and you'll understand!

I think that might have been just one segment in the movie Creepshow. either the first movie or the second i didn't take the time to look it up. Maybe not though because I don't remember the part where they drained the lagoon.

begged my parents to go swimming in silver springs fl. after ross allen told me the creature from the black lagoon was living there, i never asked again. 67 and still think of swimming there.
