Hi JMA, you amaze me by referring to that erroneous statement by the ignorant France 24 journalist that, 'the Constitution stipulates that a 45 days absence of the President results in a vacancy in the Office of the President.' The laws governing the vacancy of the office of President are 1) the Constitution in its Section 6(4), 2) the 2004 law on the organization and functioning of the constitutional council in its section 38. I suggest that you read the relevant provisions of these laws in order to understand how the vacancy occurs. Indeed, that journalist has a creative mind! What a shame! What a pity!
