Typical mihoyo story telling tell off either some happy go lucky intro or roast someone intro then after that it's crippling depression for every captain arm with AK47
this will go down in history, a VILLAIN got his own animated short, and even his own chronicles, I'd say well deserved, he literally moved the whole story, it's gonna be hard for any other villain to compete with his clownness
"Otto believed that love and emotional bonds could evoke miracles but he never respected nor honored them." Couldn't have thought of a more succinct summary of Otto in a single line than this.
So perfect. Even he doesn't respect Kallen's own love and emotional bonds with other people. Hell, even he doesn't respect his own. He's too much of a clown. Love it.
Otto is the epitome of Ingenious Selfishness. Truly a force to be reckoned with and a worthy antagonist in the world of Honkai. Honkai: Star Rail has thier work cut out for them given the standard for villains Otto has set
Otto is truly as Durandal described him, *”In a Shakespearean analogy, he’s not just Julius Caesar, or Macbeth… he’s also Claudius, Othello, and even Hamlet.. He’s a cruelly beautiful and magnificient work of art… in the end, we’ll defeat him, and history will judge him.”* Some will hate him, some will like him, Some will dishonor him, some will respect him, Everyone has their own freedom to judge him. For me, he is best representation of mankind, and therefore, I love this character.
In a way, everyone, as players and viewers, readers, has their own freedom to judge him. In that world of Honkai 3, where he affected the whole world, sacrificed and massacred countless lives, while at the same time saving countless lives, no one can judge him. None is worthy enough. That's why Durandal and even Kiana didn't try to judge him. They simply couldn't.
Best representation of mankind? Bruh, dude literally killed thousands, maybe more, and caused unimaginable emotional damage to so many people, all because of his selfish desire for revenge and revolution. He might be a sort of chaotic neutral villain, BUT HE IS STILL A VILLAIN
It is time we learn about this mad Man's past.... Hate or love him. He at least deserves RESPECT for his dedication. RIP Otto Apocalypse. U were a great villain.
He's one of the best villains, but he still doesn't have my respect. He himself doesn't want to be respected. Everything he did was to save Kallen, yes his actions may have helped humanity to progress but it was never his goal, he said it himself that he hated humanity. I see a lot of people praising him for the wrong reasons which is a shame such a good written villain is being misinterpreted has some kinda o "hero"
Honestly, Otto's story feels like a totally different one from honkai. We always witness valkyries and their story in present to protect future, but Otto is fighting to protect the past. Such a genius was lost because of the death of his beloved Kallen. Just a great character!
Actually he was fighting both at the same time in the end this all only happened bc of him and his plan for him to be defeated was also alrdy in place which was what got him to break free from the imaginary controls momentarily which is also used to save kallen and create endless for her without him existing atleast thats what i tho so meh? So in the end this was actually the best outcome of the bet he made although he might have killed alot of people but after this he'll be saving more then he killed so ya unless... This isn't the end lool.
And we have Kevin, who's stucked in the past and carrying too much burden, forgetting nothing and continue to let himself suffer in his own eternal hell but still going to make a cruel salvation to everyone. An Ark that floats in the bloods of those who he sacrificed.
Damn… Otto planned his own defeat for almost everyone’s happiness? Well respected villain. You can rest now Otto. It’s over. You’ve won *in a different perspective*.
He really earned the Title as the King of Fools and passion. His wrongs were sadly necessary, for the greater good. Rest in Peace Otto, we need more people with your passion
That's not the case tho? Did I miss something? He planned his own defeat to save Kallen and only Kallen. It so happened that the only plan he could find ended up being one that didn't end up with everyone's death because if that was the case you better believe he would do it.
@@chewygummii Yes, it was part of his plan, but it was just so he could accomplish his goal of saving Kallen. If the plan he had found instead needed him to kill them he would do it, I mean he literally was about to nuke a whole city during AE Invasion. That's how his character his.
i wouldn’t say that’s what happened though. he planned his own defeat for himself to find peace and to revive kallen, which was a rather selfish goal as well. he’s a villain after all, and a good one at that, but he is in fact not a good man, nor did he care about anyone else’s well being :/
Otto and Kallen just needed the right people around them. Everything could've been better. But the world did them wrong. They took his only light away and "did the greatest injustice". He may be a monster, but the world created a monster in him the same way he created a monster within Sirin. Kevin has a very big shoes to fill in as the main villain now. I don't think he can, ngl.
Thats what we have to find out first before assuming things knowing how the honkai dev team can write up a top tier character and mindblowing lore building Otto the king of fools, gotta be the best and well-written villain in Hoyo franchise ,or if not, most better than villains in other franchise.
You know a villain is well made when it can make the audience feel ambiguous about their moral compass. Otto was so complex of a character that we cannot determine which side of the compass he sits. Such a well written villain with a good send off. It will be up for debate on either who played the villain role the best between Otto and Kevin when Kevin gets his closing. Knowing how fucking good the dev team for Honkai is in their character conclusions (Himeko's, and now Otto), I know for sure that they won't dissapoint with Kevin's
@@lordvolsung1203 Finally, someone who shared my sentiments Yes, I do believe if Otto had a better childhood and met Kallen on different circumstances, it’ll be 180 degrees difference
He may have done really bad things to achieve his goals but what i admire about him is that when he does genuinely care for someone, he is loyal and will give his all and that is something I can respect.
He was the cause of Sirin's and everyone there inhuman suffering and they never got justice. Otto just achieved his goal. I respect him a lot for loving someone for so many decades and doing the impossible but he still remains a cruel villain
I just realised that one of the most famous catch phrases: *”fight for [kallen] what is beautiful in the world”,* sums up Otto’s whole arc I believe lol
don't know if you know but this phrase was actually first taught by otto onto the valkyries, ragna, himeko and then onto kiana lol. hence dudu's comment she felt deep down otto still believe in the ideals he taught, even if it was with the added intention of creating a positive public image for the schicksal valkyries.
@@CelesNihility Ziggy actually told Kiana those words first when she was a child living in the woods after they escaped Schicksal. Himeko basically reinstated this way of living onto her to make sure she stay on the right path.
I was still crying over Thus Spoke Apocalypse, now it's time for me to cry even harder on this. Otto did many bad and unforgivable things, yet I still do love him, his loyalty can't be compared, the way he tried to reach his goal until his very last breath - no, deciding to exchange his very last breath for the happiness of the person he loved the most... I love him, admire him and respect him. He is the best villain out there and I am glad you never tried to ''redeem'' him or turn him into someone he wasn't. Thank you for bringing Otto Apocalypse to life, thank you for doing a wonderful job on his character, thank you for gifting us the privilege to witness his journey.
this is not a story of a villain or hero, this is the story of a man who kept his promise to save the one who change his life. R.I.P Great inventor, Otto Apocalypse
The tenacity of this fool is well deserved, 500 years of ambition and willpower, ignoring right and wrong, love and hate. he keep moving forward to revive the one he love and the hope of humanity. He face the cruelty by cruelty and ironically progress the civilization and strengthen humanity. He, as an apocalypse fullfill his role as an apocalypse. Rest well otto the fool, you deserve my respect
As a physicist, I love how this game try to explain all logics of science and science fictions. Moreover, the story is like a history itself. I'll never sick of this game. Play since 2017.
@@zenoviano1668 It will still be an empty shell even if we hear Otto's voice in genshin cuz it wont be the same him anymore, that same Otto who fooled everyone in his final moments just to revive Kallen from the eternal depths of hell. But ill still bet my primogems just to hear his voice everyday.
Hoyo really rubbing it in, there's no satisfaction on beating Otto. This man embodied the role of the villain that harmed many lives and took everyones hate not just to make them strong enough to have a fighting chance against the Will but ultimately accomplish his goal of atonement by saving the one girl who gave him the hope of living for. Villain, anti-hero, and antagonist. I don't think any of these words would be enough to describe his position in this story for me, but bloody hell Hoyo created one of the most amazingly hated yet respected character in history. I can only salute to the greatest clown who made my blood boil for the last couple of years! Well played, may he now rest in peace.
The biggest difference that Otto has when compared to most villains is that he does things out of love. Most villains just want death and destruction for the world after experiencing hardships dealt by humanity to them, which led to hate. In Otto's case however, he hated humanity after Kallen's death but used all his love for her to try and bring her back. Otto was still responsible for her death but even if he didn't release those honkai beasts, she'd still die hanging in the rope. Kallen already gave up, thinking her death would be the spark of change. Her defending the people that wanted her dead in the first place is what made her the Holy Maid. I understand the hate towards Otto, but a lot of people must have forgotten that you can still hate someone and still respect them. Because he lived, loved, and laughed just like the rest of us. His actions weren't done out of hatred, but out love. His actions are unethical and have taken countless lives, it is indeed selfish. But some people just like Otto have wanted their loved ones who has passed away to be revived. Acceptance comes into play when grieving for someone. Some people have suffered for quite some time before dying, and death has made that suffering end. Otto had no one to teach him how to grieve. For 500 years he didn't grieve knowing he can still give her a better future. He has done rights and wrongs, but where he is right now is beyond those two things.
Honestly, Kallen was far too stubborn and naive for her own good, and all this could have been avoided if she wasn’t, but I guess that’s what made her the great hero that she was and was probably a big part of why Otto loved her in the first place.
warped love over the centuries, doing things that Kallen herself wouldn't want him to. Understand him is best we can do but can't respect who don't respect anyone else.
@@sm_dubs5461 Even if Kallen were to escape with Otto that wouldn't change anything. Otto and Kallen already have different views in life. Otto will continue experimenting on humans and Kallen will have to continue feeling the pain in knowing that fact. She will try to stop Otto but I don't think she will succeed. Otto himself is already a complicated man. Nothing can change him I guess. Him already doing inhumane experiments even before Kallen's death is one proof of that. If Kallen failed to change him once, what are the chances of her succeeding on the second or third time?
@@databaseoutlook3292 I disagree. Otto was a noticeably better person when Kallen was alive than he was after her passing, and you can sort of see this with the past Otto in the Kolosten arc. In fact, most of the truly inhumane things he did were as a result of him trying to revive Kallen, or came after her passing. The only thing you could use against him was the use of experimental drugs on dying patients. The thing about Otto is that he was always very practical, putting him in stark contrast with somebody like Kallen. She was an idealistic hero, but Otto never let morality stand in the way of doing what needed to be done (or when he was desperate). With Kallen around, most of his efforts were focused on good because she was basically his moral compass, which is why I think they’d have all been better off if she had just accepted his proposal, but Kallen never was one for compromise.
The world allows a mind to find another matching vessel, but it does not allow a vessel to gather the pieces of a mind To save the one and only her, I can only create new possibilities in the past. This other future, will be a future that belongs to her. Firefly, live on. - Thus Spoke The Trailblazer
I'm to be honest with you, Otto's character is really interesting to examine and talk about. He could've become one of the greatest heroes of the Current Era thanks to his gifted intellect, but he's willing to toss all that away and become the demon that we know and hate just to revive Kallen with any means possible. Not to mention that behind his affable and polite personality, lies a seething spite towards the current world he live in. His actions in Kolosten is the final nail in the coffin, that despite everything he went through, he's truly cannot be changed for better. He realized that he's already a demon to begin with, and therefore, there's no turning back. There's no hope for redemption, so there's no point worrying about it any more. There's just nothing but contempt and spite to this cruel and unjust world, and performing one final act of trolling the heroes will help him finally forgetting his dozens of troubles. I may be called out for one or two, but I'm saying what I'm saying. While his actions is downright inhumane, you cannot deny that his action will benefited for the world's betterment. He deserves any recognition for all of his accomplishments, it's just that he's too stubborn and spiteful to admit it. To be fair, many people defend and condemn all of his actions, and both of them have a fair share of good points about his character, considering how utterly bizarre and alien his mindscape is. But at the end of the day, no matter how many people look at him, I think we can agree with this conclusion about his character: Otto is a cautionary tale of what Kiana and her friends could have become had they never overcoming their guilt, admitting their mistakes, letting go of the past, and move on. His story will be a lesson for us and in-universe characters, but those who know him for better or worse will never forget what he had done to them.
To me, Otto is a permanent duality, a constant inconstance, a pure cognitive dissonnance. He's rarely good or evil or even the overestimated "good in his evil", he does what he want for his own goal. He's selfish but he is also considerate. He made humanity lose so much time and resources while being it's greatest ally. He believes in the power of love but doesn't respect love itself and the same goes for everyone he knows. There's nothing I can definitely pinpoint as to "what Otto Apocalypse was like" since he changed so much but also didn't. The man was spiteful towards the world for letting Kallen die, hating everyone in it for that reason but he also chose to give them a chance without him. I believe Otto is a great villain because we can understand some parts of him and only those ones, the rest staying nebulous and shrouded. He is a complex character and even now I can't really say if I'm glad he's gone, if I'm sad, angry, resentful, nostalgic, grateful... or all at once. But I am at least happy to know that, for his final act, nothing tragic happened aside from his death and that he even made our protagonists become their better selves. MiHoYo really have good writers now, I'm glad I could witness how it all unfolded in those last 4 years
12:52 “Fuhua concluded a feud that spanned histories, so she could embrace yesterday as a human and open the door to tomorrow”. What a beautiful sentence TwT... Otto was also an influence on Fuhua, he let her meet kiana and st freya students and find her own happiness ultimately. And he also triggered senti to awaken.
A few details omitted though in this chronicle... isn't Otto the "raksha" whose orchestrated Li's rebellion against Fu Hua? It even shatters her blade mantra forever
@@kutukan2219 Hua's blade mantra had been shattered before Otto even met her. Shattered Swords happens AFTER Fu Hua's disciples assassinate her. Otto was called Raksha because of his unusual looks and because of how he could use Void Archives.

I can hardly even say that Otto is a simp. He just genuinely loved the friend who actually appreciated him, and he's willing to do anything to save her even if it means going down a twisted path and sacrificing his life. He literally did all that without expecting anything in return from Kallen. In Chinese literary figures, Kallen is his "white moonlight".
A simp is an person so infatuated, it came at the cost of wit... A simpleton... But he is different, Otto's love for Kallen only made him more clever and devious, eventually becoming one of the most intelligent characters in the world of Honkai. He literally had the world at his feet If the world paid the price for his obsession for over 500 years, The he transcends the meaning of being a simp. It is the most devastating form of a man so madly in love.
Well, he served his purpose as the greatest written villain. Although he becoming a villain was because of the external cruelties he had to face, as they all say, a great villain cannot become a great hero. Rest in peace Otto. You've served your purpose, and we all hate and admire you.
In the end he didn't want forgiveness from anyone, hell he knew that he doesn't deserve one. He knew he was the villain. He got what he wanted and that's the only thing that matters to him. And for such a selfish person he decided to pass away with the selfless way. Goodbye and at least, thank you for giving Kallen a chance to survive the cruelty of the world. To the most selfish and yet self aware character in the story.
@@MaxDGacha sacrificing your life for someone else's is literally the most selfless thing one can do. Which i find interesting cause he's such a selfish person.
I still see it him a selfish guy even the game says he was selfish. The whole reviving Kallen was his desire and he did it at the cost of a lot of lives. Yes, the sacrifice of his life at the end is a selfless act, but when you consider all he did to get to that point there's no way you can consider him a selfless person.
I still feel like Otto deserve more than a chronicle, maybe a compilation him doing all sort of good and bad stuff (his lines are brilliantly written, especially the ones from the letter in the AE visual novel and the forgotten files). He’s such a complicated character and if anyone want to really understand him, they’ll have to actually read the entire story of honkai because he’s so relevant in all of them
Otto was a Villain, but at the same time, He was the hero who created Valkyries and save the world from honkai, without whom there would be no Kiana, Terasa or Durandal. He did many bad things but at the same time, he did many good things too. He is really the well-written character in Honaki impact.
For one who hated humanity, he learned to love humanity in such a way he was willing to be the one to progress humanity in the only method that the Honkai couldn't fight against: Willpower over the Will of Honkai itself. It may have all been part of the plan to learn enough to give to the Void Archives, and thus grant him access to all it's own knowledge, and thereby allow the Will to understand the entire scheme he had lead humanity down, but it still created insanely positive effects for Kiana and friends in their own timeline that he left behind. And, while the Will knows, it's already too late against multiple Herrschers who's Will beat the Honkai's.
I love how hoyoverse gave otto his own animated short and his chronicles, this just shows their dedication towards their characters. Rest in peace, the best villian I have ever seen
He was a misanthrope who had nothing positive to say about himself, yet always respected the abilities of others if not their lives. Theresa was perhaps the closest he came to genuine, familial love, yet he was willing to sacrifice even her if it would undo the injustice he inflicted on kallen. As he said himself, a saviour needs to be able to do what's right, even if it goes against their feelings. And he admits he was incapable of that from the start.
Never in my life ever since i played Honkai i would appreciate Otto for his motives but man what a great writing fitting for a mad man himself. Rest in peace you beautiful fool.
Thanks for those chronicles. And even with all bad and evil decisions in the past - Otto will be one of the most memorable and "live" villain in entire game universes
In Otto's part is about his obsession, tragedy, biggest effort and especially "pure love" which he has had for Kallen, this is what I respect for him. As a Honkai player who have been getting long with this game for over 3 years and no any single day not to long in...Otto and Kallen is my most favorite part❤️ even though it's a one-sided love but that Love of him is so impactful, tragic, eternal and most sentimental all of these are engraved on my mind.
I am holding back my tears for both sides. I could never forgive them for the horrible experiments on both Rin and Sirin but at the same time I know how it feels to be Otto, weak and fragile and to have someone who appreciated you.
A villain who try everything to save the hero, it's all part of his plan. All the things he did was for everyone to hate him and kill him so that he can be freed from the imaginary tree. Not that what he did was right, but his determination needs to be appreciated and it seems that there are still many stories from the other side about what he did and what it meant. Respect
I think one of the greatest thing about Otto is the fact he managed to deceived everyone and even beyond his death. Almost everyone think he's a villain but in actuality he's an anti-villain.
Been playing since 2017, makes me feel old that we reached this point... such a wonderful story, he is so well written, so complicated. While he is a villain you can't say he hasn't done good deeds, while he has done good deeds, you can't say he's a good man. I love his character man.
Otto represent what a humanity at their best yet at the same time what a humanity at their worst. He such a well written character that some people will hate, some people will like, some people will called him pathetic while some people will have a high respect for him.
Nothing made me cry this much. His story is just something to behold. Otto is literally the best villain with the most brilliant master plan that spanned for centuries for Just 1 goal. Hoyoverse really did an outstanding job with this short story, and deserve mad respect for the love put behind his character. It’s these little things that have a grand impact in the story without us realizing is what makes it a fantastic story. Well Friggin Done Hoyoverse.
He created so many stories just to allow his first one to have a happy ending. A character that evokes a lot of emotion, especially pity but also happiness for him in the final moments of his life.
Otto he is The magician, the emperor, the lovers, the chariot, the strength, the hermit, wheel of fortune, the hanged man, death, the tower, judgment, the world and the fool. what a character.
I'm fucking shaking Holy shit! "His life as a fool is finally over" fucking Onions bro. "The Fool" card has succeeded, Otto at the very least deserve Respect.
Otto was a slave to the imaginary tree's power, and what he needed was that kiana and durandal defeated him to break free for a moment to use his power to create infinites branches of infinite possibilities for kallen's survival on the past, while sending himself to the past to became the spare death (because the rule was "where there is death, always will be death". Told by the god he encountered, that is the meaning of sacrificing himself for the person that he wanted to save), that is why he became the "clown" of the history and the world's entire enemy, that is why he threatened kiana and durandal with destroying the world, because he needed to be defeated to break free form the imaginary tree. In the end all was acording to his keikaku, a really grand master 4d chess. Rest in peace the best "CLOWN" ever. Rest in peace SIMPSAMA.
From being a joke as Simp Lord, now Otto is respected by most fans. His love and goal not as simple, he is a very complex character. You know he is wrong do-er, but even as wrong as he is, you could still somehow understand the reason behind it and its background.
Otto proved that the only thing stronger than love was obsession. He was a selfish, foolish, and pathetic villain, but in the end that villain succeeded. He committed countless atrocities from life until death, but without him, the story of Honkai Impact 3rd would've never existed. So I say, farewell to Honkai 3rd's greatest villain, farewell to the gifted inventor, farewell to Otto Apocalypse. On a side note, since the main antagonist of the story (so far) is now gone, I wonder what direction the story will lead to. I hope they can focus on developing the other characters and giving them an arc. Seele is definitely an interesting character, what with the revelation of her being able to effectively utilize Abyss Flower's power and "Seele" mentioning it to be familiar. Since Palatinus Equinox was the result of her unlocking the true potential of her stigmata, I hope they delve deeper into Seele's mysterious stigmata as well. Theresa is also in dire need of a character arc (justice for Teri-teri!). She's Otto's granddaughter afterall. She has quite the interesting backstory took (MANTIS, Kallen clone who's the most similar to Kallen, can manipulate Oath of Judah to resist power of Binding, etc.) . Anyways, if you made it this far, happy anniversary to all the global captains and happy Lunar New Year to all those celebrating it.
I almost freaked out because i though we were getting a chronicle strory of otto(as in the in game chronicles like dreams of gemina) but still this is good
Kevin, Otto, Sirin. 3 individual who has 1 common ground. The dark path they take isn't something they choose on a wimp. But something that the world cause them to take that road
That is why I love and hate Otto. He did unforgivable things and played with lives, its unforgivable. But at the same time, he actively did his best to give humanity a chance to defeat honkai, to give humanity a chance to be happy. He, the villain, created a human with herrscher powers (Kiana), which in turn created another (Mei). He created the strongest human (Durandal). Prepared the future overseer (Theresa). And in the end, he even achieved his own goal. This man is cruel, inconsiderate, calculating, and so very manipulative......but I have never seen anyone more deserving of the title "Villainous hero"
@@bobjohnson6946 is definitely why he's an interesting character. Worth to be a doubtable topic. 14:17, _"To different people, "Otto" perhaps mean different things."_ I think it's basically the point of his character, to be hated, to be doubtable.
We always saw the story from the perspective of the ones that he hurt, so we never got to realize he was also hurt himself. I strongly dislike the horrifying actions he did, but the reason behind it and the loyalty and never ending love he has is respectable. He could be the main character everyone loves, or the villain everyone hates. In both cases, he is smart and hurt at the same time. I wish we could see him in a bubble universe that he wasnt that hurt that hurt others too.

I will admit, I mostly started this game recently because people kept connecting it and Genshin. And while it's the girls that hold the spotlight and fill the hearts of many fans, Otto is the reason I stayed and want to see how it all turns out in detail. The bad stuff he's done is not something I would ever be behind for, but the drive he's had for many centuries and the consequences he was willing to take to achieve his goal. It's sickening, but admirable. Yes, even though some people will just say he's being a "SIMP" (really hating that word), but he wasn't doing it to get favors from Kallen. He did it to give her another chance at life even if it meant he couldn't be there to see her live. (I still don't know how time works here.)
Damn, you don't know how much appreciation post on Facebook my friend did to you Otto, HoYo-verse story writing are absolutely beautiful and complicated that it felt like this is just a masterpiece for a mobile game. If u hate Otto it shows that u don't understand his story and what he went through at all when Otto is literally the best and most human villain in fiction because if we were in his place and lived surounded by the corrupted people from his time that in the end also corrupted him and sufferd the same way he did and had to live for the past 500+ years with the guilt and thought we were responsible for someones important death which he was in a way but not the main reason Kallen died i guarantee that no one would have been better in any way than Otto. Otto will allways remain the best villain in fiction my favorite villain in fiction and also the most human villain in fiction and its not even close.
Rest in Peace Otto. I may have hated you with every fiber of my being but despite all of that I still respect you. You will never be forgotten as the man who changed fate and a fool who acted on one cruel stage.

-and don't eat bitter melons too much😭
he told her to eat something other than bittermelons too, I was crying like a baby-
You know I hate him very much just like everyone else but I really can't take it when he said that
Same. I told myself I wasn't gonna cry. It was hard, but I held... until the part where Otto said those things. Damn, I cried like a baby then
where did he day this?
Otto is truly as Durandal described him, *”In a Shakespearean analogy, he’s not just Julius Caesar, or Macbeth… he’s also Claudius, Othello, and even Hamlet.. He’s a cruelly beautiful and magnificient work of art… in the end, we’ll defeat him, and history will judge him.”*
Some will hate him, some will like him,
Some will dishonor him, some will respect him,
Everyone has their own freedom to judge him.
For me, he is best representation of mankind, and therefore, I love this character.
Indeed 👌
Well said good sir, well said.

Rest in Peace Otto, we need more people with your passion
That's not the case tho? Did I miss something? He planned his own defeat to save Kallen and only Kallen. It so happened that the only plan he could find ended up being one that didn't end up with everyone's death because if that was the case you better believe he would do it.

i wouldn’t say that’s what happened though. he planned his own defeat for himself to find peace and to revive kallen, which was a rather selfish goal as well. he’s a villain after all, and a good one at that, but he is in fact not a good man, nor did he care about anyone else’s well being :/
Otto and Kallen just needed the right people around them. Everything could've been better.
But the world did them wrong. They took his only light away and "did the greatest injustice". He may be a monster, but the world created a monster in him the same way he created a monster within Sirin.
Kevin has a very big shoes to fill in as the main villain now. I don't think he can, ngl.
Thats what we have to find out first before assuming things knowing how the honkai dev team can write up a top tier character and mindblowing lore building
Otto the king of fools, gotta be the best and well-written villain in Hoyo franchise ,or if not, most better than villains in other franchise.

Yes
Otto was born and expected to be the next heir of the Apocalypse family. However, the heir was handed over to his brother cuz he was physically weak and naive as a child. Instead of exhibiting characteristics of a noble warrior and leader, he wanted to be an inventor but nobody believed in him. As an Apocalypse, he was a disgrace to the family and shunned. One day, while he was being shunned by his older brother, a girl named Kallen from the Kaslana family, helped him and believed that he would become a great inventor in the future. She was the only one who believed in him. They talked and quickly became friends. They spent a lot of time together as they grow older. Otto gained self-confidence that he isnt useless and unwanted by being around her. He even proved that he was a great inventor by inventing a cure for the Black Death disease that was running rampant in his time. This leads to him gaining the trust and respect from the public.
Some times later, he gave a present to Kallen as a token of gratitude, the Sixth Serenade. Otto really admired Kallen as his saviour. Without her, he wouldnt be where he is at now. To him, the world was a cruel place and humanity are of barbaric species but Kallen was the beacon of hope for humanity. Heroic and caring, throwing herself head first into saving people. If only humanity could be similar to Kallen he thought. Gradually, the Schicksal government eventually become corrupted, Kallen along with Otto helped the common folks by stealing from the rich and distributing it to them. The government also waged war against other nation to gain more power even when under the crisis of Honkai. Seeing this, Kallen and Otto planned a rebellion against the current government. During a battle against the other nation, Otto accompanied Kallen, who was a front-liner, as a medic despite Kallen's concerns over his health. He didnt want to seat back as a spectator and wanted to be of help. Unfortunately, they lost the battle and retreated.
Years later, the Schicksal government, under Otto's father guidance, declared that Kallen to be executed publicly due to treason. Otto was confused and begged his father if there was another way. His father told him that he would let her go if she promised to marry Otto and become an Apocalypse. This will make them gain control over the House of Kaslanas who was gaining more power than them. Otto was shocked since it was his dream but was hesitant since its not truly love. However, her safety takes priority first. When Otto told Kallen, who was in a cell, the proposal, she refused since the Kaslanas should uphold their oath and save people. Instead, she wanted to have one last drink. Otto, not accepting Kallen's injustice execution, made a deal with his sister, Risa Schariac, to free Kallen during the execution. His sister accepted the deal under the agreement that Otto will get his hands dirty as an Apocalypse who had always seat at the sidelines. During the day of the execution, Otto released Honkai Beasts into the town which distracted the guards. He freed Kallen but was slapped by her as he endangered the townspeople. She then went into town, saving them but ended up getting killed in doing so. Because of Otto and his family's doings, Kallen ended up getting killed. He felt guilty and devoted his life to find a way to revive Kallen for her to live once again without worries. He thought to himself that its natural to give his life for hers as she was the one who saved his. He purposely played as a "villain" role cuz a villain is the only way a world can truly change from his perspective. This perspective came to be due to the "evil" world taking the only "hero" which was Kallen away from the world, unfair and injustice.
He then rebelled the Schicksal government along with the people that believed in the Holy Maiden and eventually took over as the Overseer. He lost a lot of people he held dearly in the rebellion, namely the children in the orphanage like Voila. However, he became the very thing he swore to destroy. Under his rule, he uphold Schicksal under corruption for his goal. His obsession got over him. During 2nd Eruption when he met WoH, Otto wanted to strike a deal but WoH didnt deemed him as worthy and basically took a form of Otto and stabbed itself. Over the timeframe of what Otto did, WoH finally deemed him as worthy and accept the deal with Otto to help him with the connection to Imaginary Tree in chapter 25-Ex.
His sole dedication lead him from a frail young boy to what he is capable of now. He went from a hero to a "villain". He did what others couldnt. He walked on a thorny path of no return and made a deal with God itself, WoH and Void Archives. He did all these without expecting anything in return. Just like everyone else in the honkaiverse, hes part of the tragedy the world inflicted upon. Thats why i like him as a character. He represents the humans' obsession and the inability to let go.
He truly embodies the quote, "U either died a hero or live long enough to see urself become a villain".
"When the world's demise is nigh, strong desires and obsessions can make one go further. Like everyone else, I too have obsessions." - Su, the 7th Flamechaser.
Farewell, Otto. Next, Void Archives in APHO.

thank you for this 🫶🏻
Hoyo really rubbing it in, there's no satisfaction on beating Otto.
At the end of the day. Otto won. A truly SUCCESSFUL Villain who played everyone to the very last moment
@@prastagus3 I respect anyone who's seeking for their goal til the last breath.

I can hardly even say that Otto is a simp. He just genuinely loved the friend who actually appreciated him, and he's willing to do anything to save her even if it means going down a twisted path and sacrificing his life.
Wish otto could plan my life as he did to kiana and her friends too.
I love how hoyoverse gave otto his own animated short and his chronicles, this just shows their dedication towards their characters.
Rest in peace, the best villian I have ever seen
He was a misanthrope who had nothing positive to say about himself, yet always respected the abilities of others if not their lives. As he said himself, a saviour needs to be able to do what's right, even if it goes against their feelings. And he admits he was incapable of that from the start.

Me, a HSR player: Alright, let's see what this Otto-Luocha connection is all about
Me, 15 minutes later: *what the hell*
HONKAI3 AND HSR IS CONNECTED IDK WHY THIS DESTROY MY HEAD
Ah yes finally his side of the story💕🥲 this is gonna be a tear jerker🥲🥲🥲
Just recently, I started thinking that maybe he wasn't bad after all. Don't you agree, Trailblazers?
Agreed
Been playing since 2017, makes me feel old that we reached this point... such a wonderful story, he is so well written, so complicated. While he is a villain you can't say he hasn't done good deeds, while he has done good deeds, you can't say he's a good man. I love his character man.
This man...Otto Apocalypes, have became my favorite villain.
Otto represent what a humanity at their best yet at the same time what a humanity at their worst.
He such a well written character that some people will hate, some people will like, some people will called him pathetic while some people will have a high respect for him.
I've never thought Otto would get a video like this.
Otto was a villain who got what he wanted in possibly the most deliciously twisted way. It certainly was a win-win situation for both sides.
This guy....
I hate him but I understand him.
His determinations is insane.
You were a monster but not an impossible to understand one.
Rest in peace you magnificent bastard.
You know he is wrong do-er, but even as wrong as he is, you could still somehow understand the reason behind it and its background.
mihoyo and honkai = best game
No debate
G word fanbase = cringeyyyyyy
Seele's Stigmata is the Previous Era Herrscher Of Death Stigmata (based on wiki and manga/manhua)
Gotta respect Otto, cause in return, we captains will get to love and experience more of Kallen in future story and battlesuits.
@@dangyang6813 but still no Kallen battlesuits
My prop mimicry Divine Keys are itching
I almost freaked out because i though we were getting a chronicle strory of otto(as in the in game chronicles like dreams of gemina) but still this is good
DUDE IMAGINE PLAYING AS OTTO
Kevin, Otto, Sirin. 3 individual who has 1 common ground. The dark path they take isn't something they choose on a wimp. But something that the world cause them to take that road
“Despite Otto
Doubt Otto
Understand Otto
Become Otto”

This man is the best example of absolute loyalty and dedication
RESPECT!
He wrongs the entire world, but the world wronged him first.
Bro, he murdered little children who litteraly wronged no one.
@@bobjohnson6946 is definitely why he's an interesting character. Worth to be a doubtable topic. 14:17, _"To different people, "Otto" perhaps mean different things."_ I think it's basically the point of his character, to be hated, to be doubtable.
even though i may hate what he did but he got my respect and i just love his villain character
We have Three part
Hate Otto
Understand Otto
And become otto after peco(HSR)
We always saw the story from the perspective of the ones that he hurt, so we never got to realize he was also hurt himself. I strongly dislike the horrifying actions he did, but the reason behind it and the loyalty and never ending love he has is respectable. He could be the main character everyone loves, or the villain everyone hates. In both cases, he is smart and hurt at the same time. I wish we could see him in a bubble universe that he wasnt that hurt that hurt others too.
Me too…. If I can see a glimpse of that world
I can die happy
It's weird seeing this after speed run new chapter this afternoon, but yeah otto last message for Theresa really touch me, when he said your grandpa won't be able to see your coronation feel like he know that this is his end journey, otto you got my F

@@AlexThat200 He sacrificed himself (and the world) to give Kallen a life she deserves and he didn’t expect anything back
Damn, you don't know how much appreciation post on Facebook my friend did to you Otto, HoYo-verse story writing are absolutely beautiful and complicated that it felt like this is just a masterpiece for a mobile game.
Once again, i would say what my friend said to your song...
It is too depressing for a marching chant and too prideful and accomplished as a Elegy.
This video shows all of your despicable sins Otto.
Now, all of your sins indeed got paid by your soul ultimately got destroyed, drifted along the sands of time.
I haven’t forgiven his deeds…. But I sure as hell won’t let people trample his grave
I’ve seen many villains, but none is as unforgivable yet admirable as Lord Otto Apocalypse…. Heck, he’s probably the first Villain I ever made into a role model for his sheer determination….
And because of that, I will gladly say this:
*LONG LIVE LORD OTTO APOCALYPSE*
I saw some theory crafters compare Kaveh from Genshin, with Otto. And I just have to laugh. Kaveh. the altruistic, self sacrificing architect, who places other's emotions, and well being in front of his own. A person who is even prepared tp save others, at the cost of his life....
He was called a villain,
But he was just a broken hero.
He strayed from the path that faith gave him.
Just becouse he's looking directly at the destination
Made him carefree of what he's trapling on. .
He's intention is maybe good
But the procedure he chose are the opposite.
Rip otto. The real personification of loyalty.
We hated him, we loved him, we cried because of him, we cried for him. Otto will go down to be one of my all time favourite villains, he is just so flawlessly written
Kallen wasn't even closely the strongest Valkarye yet he sacreficed himself for her...
she was considered one of the strongest valkyries tho? At least in her era
I fully understand Otto after Chapter 28 and now after Firefly getting stabbed in HSR
Shaoji's maniacal laughter in the corner
Da Wei also laughing at the other corner
Gege join them
Thank you for creating such a beautiful villain
If u hate Otto it shows that u don't understand his story and what he went through at all when Otto is literally the best and most human villain in fiction because if we were in his place and lived surounded by the corrupted people from his time that in the end also corrupted him and sufferd the same way he did and had to live for the past 500+ years with the guilt and thought we were responsible for someones important death which he was in a way but not the main reason Kallen died i guarantee that no one would have been better in any way than Otto.
Otto will allways remain the best villain in fiction my favorite villain in fiction and also the most human villain in fiction and its not even close.
@@ediro I never hated him
I hated his deeds
But I respect loved and admired his willpower
Beautiful narration! It explained a lot about the confusing history of Otto. The manga wasn't enough to curb my curiosity.
What a guy was Otto. We'll never get another character like him in Honkai. He earned our hate and respect
He is one the best well written villain character ever.
Most hated villain in any video game, Yet he was able to gain my respects.
Rip Otto Apocalypse!!!
Rest in Peace Otto. I may have hated you with every fiber of my being but despite all of that I still respect you. You will never be forgotten as the man who changed fate and a fool who acted on one cruel stage.

How to make a good-written villain by Honkai Impact 3rd:
1. sad backstory
2. kills everyone, a effing menace
3. must be hot
4. making his plan successful as a villain
5. make people think he's the real protagonist in the end
6. dies
