  • Delve into the murky depths of the Black Mire with @DysonLogos 'Challenge of the Frog Idol.' Dyson's Logos blog is one of my favorite RPG resources. It's an absolute treasure trove. This is a review of a 20-page module that, with a little work you could run for months.
I'll take you through the adventure's unique elements and practical gameplay considerations. Whether you're a seasoned DM looking to add some flair to your campaign or a curious player, this review covers what you need to know about this hex crawl adventure. I'm also going to cover some cool ways to expand it.

I strongly appreciate this ‘gaming for free/cheap’ series. It’s realy nice to have a showcase of useful, high quality free content and game systems.

Thank you. One of my goals is to get more people running games. Generally it's the GM that picks up the tab and times are tough, so hopefully this series can make things a little more accessible.
Also, this stuff is epic. Crafted with love by people who care.

Thanks. I've built A Frog Temple to Tsathoggus in my Tegel Manor module. I can use this to flesh out Modron which is on the way to Tegel manor, in my world. Lizard Men and Troglodytes are some of my go-to villains so this folds in very nicely and lets me lay some groundwork.

This is awesome! Good timing too because I've been working on reorganizing the Olde Swords spells so that there is a separate cleric and magic user table, and all are arranged by level. It's easier for me. Once I finish, I'll upload it to the forum. Happy New Year!

The scale is little ridiculous if you imagine that the adventure takes place in area larger that the whole state of Connecticut or about 80% of the Netherlands... The river itself is like Thames from Reading to London...
I don't know about you, but I'd cut the scale to 3 miles per hex or even 2 miles. Traversing marshland in real life is not easy..
