For me it shows the resilience of that generation. . I can't imagine that not being painful. My beautiful old grandma grew up milking cows by hand as well as cutting down trees with an axe and crosscut saw and digging roots out with a pick and shovel. Her father was an awful man who treated his kids like slaves. Grandma's hands twisted in every direction but at 90 she still had an iron grip. She was determined in her old age to enjoy every moment of life and played 3 games of lawn bowls 2 days before her failing heart finally gave out. There was a lovely photo of her on the back of a Harley at 92. They were a tough breed and yet she was humble and sweet and had a great sense of humour. It makes me sentimental just thinking of her.

I’m sure Keith has a variety of reasons why he doesn’t feel much pain from his osteoarthritis
Not meant as a knock. Just saying…
He is both still a great musician and a powerful demonstration of what having a “never say die”, bop until you drop attitude can accomplish, in his life and as a philosophy in life that can benefit anyone.
Rock on, Keith. Love & respect….& thanks for all that you have given, and continue to give, to the world.
As your most famous mate once said, in answer to a political/social timebomb question, I am neither.
    I am a fellow “”rod & a mocker”.
Cent’ Ann” & more, my spiritual brother…
    Dan
You still inspire me to keep on keeping on…thank you for showing so many of us what being true to your values can do for you, even when the world opposes you. Or when it seems that way.
Many see you first as a rockstar. I see you as a man of principles in a world too full of posers.
FTW. Live YOUR life & know that some of us do love you through it all. I can not only see that you live that.
Glad your hands don’t bother you much. And it isn’t anyone elses business. So even in your darkest moments you are loved & respected by many.

@@chrispilditch1169 True on the last claim. That said, I find the insistence of some to interject Brian Jones into things to somewhat annoying because it overestimates his importance to the band's entire career and legacy. The band's best work has diminished Jones contributions (Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed) or no involvement (Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St., Some Girls). Jones had many significant contributions prior 1967 but that electric noodling stuff on Their Satanic Majesties Request was where it went off the rails.
Yes, Mick Taylor made them greater than they were. Taylor's musicality improved their overall musical dynamic (as Taylor is the most sophisticated guitarist the Stones ever had). Despite the minimization of his songwriting credits, he did contribute to their music in a way Jones had not and Wood did only in periods of dysfunction. He also elevated their live performances. Wood is also more important the Jones as a contributor overall. Unlike Jones, Wood easily fit into the band when they needed someone that wouldn't complicate an already fraught dynamic. He was highly versatile, fulfilling whatever role was needed at the moment from contributing songwriting when Mick & Keith weren't communicating to supplying instruments outside of his normal role such as bass, drums & saxophone. He also helped maintain the band's image and allowed Richards to return to his preferred "weaving" guitar style.
