PS...
I’m so tired of seeing these incomplete, sheer, beaded evening gowns that are split all the way to the crotch.
Obviously the new pageant trend but so many of them don’t deserve to be called an evening gown.
I will support Philippines all the way, i hope she can still enter the top 16, im so tired of the ideas of "reserving strategy" for the finals when all of your enemies on stage are giving their A-game performances. Preliminary competition is the one and only ticket to reach the top 16. I will be forever grateful even top 16 only as long as the placement streak of 11 years will not be broken.
Could not have said it any better, tumpak!
super trueee
interviews, prelims and finals is the only thing that matters and for prelims, bea did not give an A-game. shes gonna break the winning streak of the philippines. she gave us nothing in the prelims
I hope you are coming back to your comment and let bea slapped you big time LOL!!!!
@@jasonflores4250 sorry gurl, im basing her performance sa prelims and sorry kulang para sakin. kahit sa finals nakukulangan pa rin ako, although i think sa qna dapat pasok sya sa top 3. yung long gown and swimsuit walang buga para sakin. so nagagalit ka kasi magkaiba opinion natin? ok ka lang?
I love, love France, with Colombia a close second. I would be so happy if either of them win. Bolivia, Chile, Belgium, India, Philippines, Costa Rica, Mauritius and Equatorial Guinea are my other favorites.
For Me my 5 top Colombia, India, Mauritius, France, Costa Rica
just love how Bea, Ms. Philippines🇵🇭 exudes confidence without trying so hard. She owned the stage and showed her authentic walk, enjoying the moment, having so much fun on stage while exuding confidence. She connected with the judges, her aura was just simply amazing.
HAHHAAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA push
Wag umasa at kampate, mag vote vote vote na lang para sure
She need,Jesus Christ.
Bea is simple.. I dont think she can be miss universe
ang daming hanash puro copy pasted haha. "owned the stage"? eh nasa good lang naman overall performance niya. "authentic walk"? what do you even mean by that HAHA. "enjoying the moment" napaka stagnant nga ng facial expressions niya. "confidence"? compare mo kay USA, Puerto Rico, Paraguay at India, yun ang tunay na confidence.
I feel like Dani loves everyone this year!
It's a strong group to choose from.
I love too many lol.
Miss Philippines is a standout without trying hard , calm and collected , unlike others who’ve been doing moves done by winners of the past edition .
Oh please.
Im gonna bet that beatrice would do something like twirl and stuff fierce sa swimsuit and then pag pumasok siya sa top 10 she can ace evening gown…. Ps hahha india, puerto rico etc the front runners wala nang bago nakakasawa na ung mga styles nila
I can feel, Miss Philippines will silently climb the Top. I can feel the 5th crown! 🇵🇭🇵🇭

_“It’s going to be a really harsh top 16 cut. There’s going to be countries we’re surprised that didn’t make it in there, and countries that we’ll be surprised to see there. It’s going to be tough, and I just want to say if your contestant doesn’t make it, just find a new contestant to cheer for”_ 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 yes Dani. At the end of the day let’s just enjoy the pageant. That first cut really is harsh. Last edition I had way more than 21 faves and had heartbreaks and pleasant surprises (Nicaragua last edition was a happy surprise ☺️❤️ honestly wish she made it further but just making it made me happy)
😂😂 that's why I always have multiple faves
But no one here made mention of the Filipino judge, and the Filipino Sponsors.
I really hope our gorgeous Miss Brasil enters the top 16 with a different gown and styling from prelims 🙏🏼 Also rooting for Miss India, Paraguay and Puerto Rico! Love your videos, Dani!! 🇧🇷💕
This year, they prepared a lot. Majority of them are doing a great and fantastic job. It's hard to choose This years top but I love Belgium...Colombia.. usa..Philippines...Paraguay....

I’m an American and will always support any Miss USA, but I do feel Elle is the best representative we’ve had in a few years. She just has the X factor that you naturally have and cannot learn. After USA, my top 3 includes Belgium and Paraguay. I remember when Belgium won her national title and I saw her face and immediately thought, “There’s Miss Universe!” And now seeing more of her and learning her story, I love her even more. And then what more can be said about Paraguay? The face, the walk, the presence!
There are so many amazing contestants this year and I love that there are at least 20 who I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they win. If USA doesn’t win, I do hope a country wins for the first time, or at least the first time in awhile. I feel when that happens, then the next year’s batch of contestants will be insane because so many of the “less newsworthy “ countries realize they can win it and step it up even more!
Such a great comment!
I can see this argument, and the same projection as why the Philippines got it to top 5. Consider which countries the judges from and the Sponsors. I can't blame why people suspect of fishy results.

Nice recap Dani, this is going to be a tough year. The top designers in South Africa dropped Lalela last minute. She had to fly to Dubai to get her dresses. The designers who were responsible for her day to day wardrobe dropped her too. That's why this year's Miss S.A outfits haven't been as eye-catching as the other years. The S.A government also withdrew their support because of the pageant being held in Israel. So Lalela has been really going through it 😕.
Sad . But Lalela has so much class . She looks stunning in any outfit .
she keeps pushing no matter what. So proud of her and thanks to Natasha for helping here and there
That is awful! She's being punished for something that she has no control over. This pretty much shows the selfishness of South Africa. I hope Lalela pulls through and makes it to the top 16.
omg. thats really sad but she still did greatt

@@williamdunphy352 yep, it would be exceptional 🤗
I’m so happy we’re on the same page for most of these Dani!
If I were picking a Top 16 it would be Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Honduras (the head wrap was to die for!), India, Kenya (Evening sold me on her), Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Spain, USA (Let’s go Elle!), and Vietnam (My personal favorite)!
Puerto Rico and South Africa absolutely could be swapped in amongst others! (Can we get a Top 25 next year please?)
For some reason I just wasn’t feeling the energy like everyone else was on Colombia idk why! Also Thailand is stunning but I wasn’t feeling the energy either! Both could definitely surprise me though!
Lmao. No way Puerto Rico and South Afruce will not make it to top 16.... lol
@@kevindragneel285 …that’s why I said they could be easily swapped out.
@@googlyotterr right but they are going in the top 16 100% especially Puerto Rico. Over a lot of the girls you have. Those are the ???s PR and South Afruca were standouts and have Reputation as countries. Chile, Bilivia, Costa Rica, Honduras all of these are super common with common dresses and did not stand out as much as those you left out.
@@kevindragneel285 Well that’s up for the interpretation of the judges, I’m just listing who I personally liked. Whether they’re from an established country in pageants means nothing when a judge vibes with someone else. Regardless, I liked both of them and wish them the best.
@@googlyotterr yes it does matter.... they are also more prepared speaking wise, and with the walk. The ones I just mentioned all blended together. Unlike Puerto Rico or South Africa. You might not like them. But its foolish to not inclde them in a top 16.
Love your logic. My final top 5 is:
India
South Africa
Colombia
Spain
Namibia
Any of these girls would please me if they won.
Argentina is the black horse this year, she can surprise
Loved her
Many people are saying India walked slightly fast in SS but it didn't look like it was because she was low on confidence rather she was excited to perform and full of energy.
Being an Indian I definitely am rooting for India to win but also I want to see Nepal in top 16. That girl really gave a good performance in both rounds and considering she is a pageant veteran I'm sure her interview must have been good enough.
Again thee are just 16 spots so 🤞
If I was a judge, I would prefer if everyone walked really fast... cuz come on, nobody wants to read long emails... nobody likes long meetings... nobody wants to see 80 girls take their own sweet time walking on the stage... 😆😂
She definitely walked too fast in swimsuit. I noticed it straight away. She was much better in evening gown. I hope for finals she slows it down.
That smirk india did at the end of swimsuit is so out of place and maybe translated as being too cocky. I don't like her expression there
I have been waiting for your vlog after the prelim..its lovely as always. I really loved performances of France, Namibia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, USA, Paraguay & India. All of them are fantastic by their own way. You mentioned the last look of India, I just want to add when she was stepping down from the stairs..her eyes were on the camera..and that moment was jaw dropping 😀.
But I'm little tensed as this year MU first cut will be 16, which you are right..we may loose some of our favourites. I liked their last year's elemination format: 20-10-5.
Dani you should know that Lalela's prelims and finals gown designer pulled out a week before she had to leave for miss universe. They had to go to Dubai to look for a dresses one week before she departed and no local designers in S.A wanted to dress her because of the backlash she received (Werner told us during a live after prelims). Even her wardrobe if people feel like it was underwhelming it was the because all designers deserted her. Luckily Natasha (miss universe south africa 2020) has a clothing line and had some clothes for her since she does dress some of our representitives who compete internationally like Thato and Shudu and herself. Thank you for including her she did her best with what she had. But she does have another dress for finals
Oh my gosh, that's so sad! Thanks for the update. So nice of her sisters to step in to help!
Oh wow I didn’t know this 😮 This story breaks my heart, but also touches my heart with Natasha Joubert coming through for her sister queen like that 🥺❤️❤️ the Miss SA organization is an absolute gem
What backlash did she receive? I knew nothing like this I thought her wardrobe was underwhelming as well
Why didn't designers want to dress her; what was the backlash; what happened to her; what has she done? Lakeland was such a strong contender since your national pageant. She overshadowed by others
@@sarahsodone5993 the SA Government is boycotting Miss Universe this year because it is held in Israel

I agree with what you said regarding Miss Spain’s make-up. I feel like she should go for a more toned-down make-up look, because the strong make-up look aged her. Rooting for her still, and Philippines, USA, Paraguay, France, Vietnam, Thailand, Great Britain, Belgium, and India.
• My TOP 16 CHOICES at MISS U 2021 based on evening gown competition only. I took some screen shots of the pre-lim gown competition, and here is my list, according to rank, number 1 the highest. Compare your choices with mine.
• 1 PHILIPPINES. It is said that after a crisis or chaos like the pandemic, the universe will be looking for something simplified and authentic. She delivered those. I think the Philippines exuded happiness the world needs to embrace. Her smile was enigmatic. Her killer legs and lean physique carried the understated gown. She reminded us the pink of health is being athletic. Now I understand her hairstyle was unique, I see it perhaps celebrating the 70th year of Miss U when in the 70’s this hairstyle was hot. Nothing compares is a unique branding I made her on top because she was like a swan on stage gliding like a silk in that fire-engine red color among the sea of neutrals which meant winner, champion and leading. Her sashay was seamless. No-fuzz walk, no-name walk. She was the walk show stopper.
• 2. BELGIUM. She takes my number 2 spot. Once she appeared on stage, she had the wow factor. It was her exuberant and expensive look that was powerful and we all know any beauty queen has to look expensive. She has a magnetic personality. In classic Greek beauty definition, women of beauty must have smaller head. Her proportion seems to fit that.
• 3 INDIA. She carried the gown not the gown carried her. The choice of cut of her gown was good for her almost like Elizabeth Taylor voluptuous physique. She moved with confidence and retained her fresh aura in her lovely pink ombre to champagne color gown. Her stunning face and bubbly personality will take her to the top finalists.
• 4. PUERTO RICO. Perhaps because of the periwinkle or peri color forecast in her gown that made her a stand out but it is her exotic Pocahontas look and killer smile that she slew the stage. Her exotic skin tone and svelte figure was competing intensely with Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia.
• 5. COLOMBIA. Her walk was simple as well except for the poses, her magnetism is comparable to Miss Puerto Rico-the Latina vibes. Those vertical bead stripes on her gown, made her look towering. When a candidate has presence I think column gowns are amazing to focus on how fluid a delegate can carry herself on stage. She was screaming that a high slit does not make a contemporary gown.
• 6. VIETNAM. She was a stunner although the extremely overdone nude gown took away the focus from her own kind of beauty. I looked at the gown than the delegate. She was confident enough though I thought the aura needed a bit more notched up. She was edgy for an Asian. Like Miss Philippines both may have created a trend in pasarela which was no-drama kind of presentation. Ergo, sans of twists and turns, smize and dagger looks.
• 7. JAPAN. What a serene beauty. She had the mystery and originality in a black and gold kimono inspired gown. That was how she stood out, an image differentiated from the rest. Although theatrical, she was a woman of peace projecting it from within. Her make-up was superb, her styling was neat and impeccable, thus, her Japanese culture was magnified. She was so calm. You wanted to uncover her and glue your eyes on her, from start to finish. She can be a dark horse.
• 8. USA. In a Filipino gown by Michael Cinco, she exemplified authenticity by being unruffled although her gown had those. No bombastic movement on stage but rather only her great casual self which she could still buoy up a bit more. She was understated and light hearted that balanced the otherwise heavy gown. Although something was missing but that is what I did not figure out. May be as a newscaster, she would have been herself in a simple "ready-to-run" gown than looking like a debutante. This is when designers should understand who they are dressing up.
• 9. VENEZUELA. In her simple column gown she was typical Venezuelan beauty of confidence and assurance. Although, the sheer beaded irridiscent column gowns are already so tiring in pageants, she managed to draw attention to her strong personality. She looked a bit tired perhaps because her eye make up was too heavy although Venezuela always send mature women to Miss U. But she was unforgiving in elegance.
• 10. COSTA RICA. She drew a surprise with her jubilant presentation. She enjoyed the whole take and it showed her aura as someone who is herself. She was full of life the way she smiled ...and sashayed.
• 11. PARAGUAY. She has a smashing face, the most beautiful in the batch. Her pasarela was a bit overdone as if she was in a fashion show but she carried the flowing gown like a pro. I thought the gown had too much fabric it was distracting. Would have wanted to see her in more high fashion gown than a prom gown. She ranked less that I would expected it due to off styling in her choice of gown which did not match her strong personality . She is a model and acted like so. We were looking for a queen. Radiant, she was, however, a force to be reckoned with climbing up to the top finalists.
• 12. SPAIN. Hers was an exotic face which was her gun, but not her frail physique and her long torso. Queens must have mile long legs. In body proportion, beautiful women must be 3/4 legs and 1/4 torso. This is the classic standard, same for the rest of human proportion in relation to face and arms. She can walk and she can smile. Column gowns like hers were flattering. Enough of these flying chiffon capes covering those lovely butts in pageant, they all looked like flying bats with those.
• 13. FRANCE. She is pretty. She tend to raise her chain up too much, it became a mannerism. Else, she was stunning with her afro hair. Not so fond of this overused gold gown and the pronounced high low hemline was not elegant. Confidence included, she projected an unusual French beauty who is sure of herself.
• 14. SOUTH AFRICA. One will notice her well chiseled face. She is pretty although I can sense she walked a bit with lack luster. Not so fond of the white slashed gown, although unique a body wrap but not elegant, I saw only informality, and white is never a good color for pageant evening gowns as it washes out everything on the candidate. Be careful with white as we say, it is dangerous a color if you don't know how. Her command was not as convincing, thus.
• 15. PERU. She was sweet. I like her projection of simplicity. Her personality was not over bearing rather not-trying-for-attention. She could come a little bit stronger for a Miss Universe gene.
• 15. KENYA. Wearing another Filipino creation, the statuesque beauty was having fun. Call it a dark horse, she was slaying it to my cut of top 15.
• Overall my impressions were that the powerhouse countries were dominating this competition category, we looked at the face first, body next, then movement in that order. It is still a beautiful face we are attracted to. The rest follows.
• Although I think we were tired with all those same sheer transparent gowns with corded laces they all looked like gowns bought from a department store. We were looking for something new.
• The avalanche of gown formula-- high slit + sheer fabric -- was tiring. The girls looked all the same with this look. Those with no slit we can feel it was harder to walk in the slimmest of a pencil tube in a gown yet they managed how.
• I think innovative presentations like being one's self, e.g. Miss Philippines smiling with gusto the whole time, created a new trend leaving behind the range of facial expressions a thing of the past. I feel this represented authenticity what Paula Shugart of MU org singled out.
• The personalities showed mostly on who was the coolest by simplicity and a bit of reminisce. I guess it is time to retrograde and backmask to the glorious 70 years of Miss U by synthesis of those yesteryears in a delegate's overall core. It is hard to do this but few delegates had it whooping them for us. We can picture out the Miss Universe 1969 pageant when the delegates were themselves. We were amused how unchoreographed their stances were. How Gloria Diaz of the Philippines captured the crown by just being herself and nothing was studied, walking in the ramp like there was no end while men landed on the moon.
• Well, life is in full circles. We just transform the past into something new again. There are zillions of things we can do such as referencing the past melding it with the needs of our time today.
• At this digital era, we strike the face-to- face encounters while we can judge on screen virtually in parallel that a delegate must balance herself in the center line while her one foot is ahead of her and the other foot behind her. She must strike the plum line to balance both. The former reflects her aggressive steps for the future, the latter her restrained steps from the past.
• May the best conquer what is universal exemplification of our aspirations at this ever- changing time.
oh...my godddd..!!!
I have not seen a comment this big in my entire life. kudos to you for writing this novel😅 but I really love the way you explain everything so well. lot's of love for your passion towards pageantry.❤️❤️
Thank you ❤️🇹🇭
My final Top 3 are India, Puerto rico and Paraguay
If they make it into the top 3 idc who wins because all of these 3 deserve the crown

Thanks for sharing. Thanks for making. Loved it. Was fun. Love your opinions
Miss USA has a big chance , the candidate with only small weeks of preparation and she goes onto the stage glowing with confidence; Belgium stands out with unexpected usual white Belgian candidate, India simply gorgeous, Philippines calm , serene representing LGBTa, national costume outstanding, Namibia , a James Bond lady character, Vietnam a surprising personality. China is a dark horse, usually china sends in shy pale candidate, this year china send in energetic fierce participant; expect Paraguay to be in top 5.
Yay!!! I was waiting for your review!!
Hi Dani, I find it amazing how you can remember which past winners wore similar dresses. Love it.
You're good, you did mentioned those darkhorse, like Japan, Aruba & Singapore
Japan showed up on my radar. Her gown presentation was amazing!
Thank you Dani for your comprehensive review !!! Dani for judging MU some day !!
My pleasure!! I hope so!
hello Dani.. i love watching ur videos.. 😁 cant wait for your final predictions ❤️
I love this channel, from host to them comments.
France, Colombia, Puerto Rico, India, Vietnam
♥️♥️♥️
I agree on your choices! I feel like france, india and puerto rico are the frontrunners. I'm from the philippines, and i also don't understand her hair styling, she looks like she's having fun though.
whohoooo PH back in the top 5 of actual Miss Universe 2021 completing the 12 year ongoing streak in IMG love love
Peru 🇵🇪 had a superlative swim suit show ! She was stunning’ To me and many, one of the best bodies y along with Puerto Rico. That has to be recognized
Indian here and will be supporting India!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Harnaaz will surely be the Miss Universe 2021! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
In no particular order
Philippines
Columbia
Puerto Rico
India
Paraguay
puerto rico is SO fierce, her, “extra” energy gives me all kinds of trump era muo and/or m.g.i. vibes though.
france… people shouldn’t sleep on her, she’s had like, two years and a whole quarantine to prepare for this. she was ON in prelims.
argentina was a pleasant surprise. her aesthetic may be polarizing, but i for one am here for it.
super strong class this year, and it’s going to be a brutal cut to get both a top 16, and especially a top 5. it’s still an img brand though, and the, “fiercest” girl hasn’t won in the last 6 years. always the most, “balanced” girl.
i’d look for france, india, belgium, and (yaass!) usa to be in the mix deep into the evening.
This edition is going to be a blood bath! Intense competition..
I was just checking your channel every half hour through out the day after the prelims to see your review! And finally it's here! 😊❤️
Thanks for coming to watch!
I really like your SUBSTANCE. Love it.
I loved USA’s gown but I didn’t like that when she walked you could see the underwear part.
I agree with your recap for sure ! I am so happy France got to come !
"Can we see that in finals, please?" So cute 🥰
Your recaps are the best video's to watch during miss universe season
Just the way you explain everything
Amazing❤️
Hi Dani!!!! It's been a hot minute since I have commented and said hello but I still watch you all the time and you are my fave! Loved this list dn I agree with you 100%. But I just wanted to add a bit of info: Miss Argentina was trained by Osmel Sousa who was the director of Miss Venezuela for a million years until a few years ago. He then took over the pageants of Argentina (and Uruguay which he dropped). A couple of years ago he tried a similar hair style and look on his Miss Uruguay but as a. blond and it did not work. I think partially because the girl did not feel comfortable in it and she had mentioned it. in various interviews. Perhaps he wanted to try that look again (old Hollywood bob, red lip, etc) and see if it works. On this girl from Argentina it is ON FIRE. She looks gorgeous. Much love to you my dear and if you are ever in Zürich drop me a line!!!! XOXO, Christian
OMG DANI ROAD TO 100 k SUBSCRIBERS!! 😍
