A famous Korean sci-fi novelist wrote the storyline! It has a whole audiobook which is why this concept is one of my favourites! I also think it’s so cool that they made a unit with Jeonghan who is a vocalist with a very soft, light voice and then there’s Wonwoo, a main rapper with a very deep voice. They sound great together. If you want some backstory, read on:
The story is based around the urban legend ‘THIS MAN’. This legend is basically about a man people see in their dreams sometimes, they don’t know who he is but they sometimes remember his face, just can’t put a finger on it.
Jeonghan: A fugitive who one day, loses someone he loves very much. Because of this pain, he conjures up an image of that person, let’s call this person A (as referred to in the audiobook). Jeonghan imagines A and relives his happy days over and over again until, every single time eventually the image of A gets distorted because none of this is real anyways. To ignore this reality, Jeonghan covers A up with a white sheet. In the mv, you can see a lot of A’s covered up in a white sheet showing just how many times he’s done this before. One day A escapes. Jeonghan then goes to the people of the city and whispers in their ears. He promises them absolute happiness forever if they trust him, he shows them a glimpse of their happiest dream and they accept. In doing so, these people fall asleep and see this happy dream over and over again. Jeonghan is then referred to as a ‘this man’ because people talk about him and say how he promises them things. When this happens, the lights go off in that persons house and the clocks stop ticking. This is when Jeonghan enters the dreamworld and searches that person’s subconscious for A. He starts doing this to MANY people in the city, that’s why so many people are asleep. The issue here is that these people can only feel happiness, which isn’t real.
Wonwoo: another ‘this man’ who protects the city, he roams the streets at night and whenever people are having trouble falling asleep, he lulls them into a blissful sleep. At the start of the mv, he overhears some women talk about a this man. He originally thinks they are talking about him because sometimes people remember him when he soothes them to sleep but one comment stuck with him, the comment about him promising things and “who wouldn’t want to go with him” this is when he realises it’s not about him. As he roams the city he realises everyone is asleep and fading away in their sleep, the lights are turning off everywhere. He enters the dreamworld to look for Jeonghan. As he does, he slowly starts waking everyone up, basically crushing all of Jeonghan’s efforts, but he’s actually saving everyone. No one can feel happiness forever. The lights start coming on again. Jeonghan starts really losing his mind because he realises his fake reality is crumbling. He admits his defeat when Wonwoo finds him and falls to his knees. Wonwoo makes Jeonghan fall into a blissful sleep too. He has defeated Jeonghan by saving him from himself.
The lemonade is called true lemonade because that is how you can tell whether you’re living in reality or in a dream. Notice how Wonwoo is always drinking that lemonade because he’s in the real world, but Jeonghan drinks it in the closing credits because Wonwoo has woken him up from his dream, he is finally living in reality too! It’s a very interesting story and was executed perfectly!

Bye drinking lemonade they get to know whether it's reality or a dream
(That's why the name is TRUE lemonade)
The worked with a sci-fi novelist for new story for their concept, the whole project and all songs are connected to this concept

Wonwoo (the one who's drinking the true lemonade)wakes people from their dream and
Jeonghan (the one in white clothes at the end) he puts people to sleep and in the end was woken up by wonwoo, he drank lemonade and realised that he's not in dream anymore
