That's because Mika was very unprofessional on set. There were times, she was a NO-SHOW at all. So, how do you get an actor or actress fired from TV? You kill his or her character, right? And that's exactly how the original Yellow 4 was killed on TV.
Ep. 50-- Notice how Suuichi (Dr. Man's son) is wearing a sweater that bears four of the Bioman colors. It would have been nice to see a pink tyrim or, at least, a white trim to substitute for pink-- at least all colors are "represented" on his sweater. :)

Not necessarily. There were Super Sentai series that already had 2 female rangers but not as catchy as Bioman. Hikaru Sentai Maskman, that's also a popular Super Sentai series post Bioman wise.

0:29 しかし、矢島由紀氏が突然に失踪してしまい、やむを得ず終始、変身後の姿で登場させて最後は殉職させるという救いも無い形で降板せざるを得なくなっている。
