    I’ve found the best way to be “financially free” is hustling on active / semi-passive non-W-2 income sources. You can add some of your time to your money invested to get massive cash on cash returns (self managing Airbnb, internet business, etc). The moment you drop being slave to the paycheck is well worth the sweat on doing active investing, and then you can start getting truly passive once you have a solid base of active investments and no paycheck draining your time, energy, and creativity. It just requires a couple years of working super overtime to make it happen. I’m just not seeing how someone get get truly rich off a mix of only W-2 and dividend stock / passive long term rentals.

    The "flipping" of houses, and entry of large hedge funds into the housing market, have destroyed THE AMERICAN DREAM.
    We bought a starter home in Ft. Lauderdale back in 1977 for $34,000. It recently sold - after renovations and "upgrading" - for $300,000. This is ABSURD - and pricing young families out of the home market. We are seeing the fruition of a prediction - that our children & grandchildren will end up as TENANTS & HOMELESS, in the land their forefathers conquered !

    • @eddieschwab864
      @eddieschwab864 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With all due respect you don't understand all the Dynamics before stating that. Sure you bought a home in 1977 for 34,000 but if you just sold it for 300,000 that's combination of inflation and property appreciation. Plus last I checked Fort Lauderdale is one of the areas of the country where property values have gotten absolutely insane. Example I live in a fairly moderate Market, back in the early 1980s my dad bought a house in a working-class neighborhood for $6,000 in a small town, it was a duplex and we lived on one side and rented out the other side, but after fixing it ourselves to make it more livable and comfortable we ourselves only lived in there for a couple years before moving on, owning it for several years before my parents sold it off, but when it more recently sold at auction it sold for $120,000. That's 1986 to 2018 when it sold at that price. And the neighborhood has not really gone up if anything it's really gone down A LOT. Even with that, when my parents sold it they still turned around and sold it for $50,000 at that point back in 1994. But even in this market property values from then till now have dramatically increased. But at the same time incomes have also increased, although perhaps not nearly as much. Now the way some of these hedge funds have inflated the market with their actions, it is a little bit of an aberration. But I would not say that the American dream is destroyed. Might be a little harder in some areas, but I guarantee you it's alive and well elsewhere.

    I believe Once people have at least $1.5M invested, their average return on investment will begin to exceed their household income. In other words, their invested money is working harder than they ever could, which creates lifestyle options that most people never get.

    • @wallacemoore5875
      @wallacemoore5875 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's why a huge goal of mine is to hit the 1.5 marker as soon as possible. I started at 18 (now 29) so hopefully compounding does most of the heavy lifting, but the building process is a long one.

    • @Chiamakaagnes0405
      @Chiamakaagnes0405 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      When you look at it that way it's completely possible. The first $100K is really hard. After that, compounding makes a huge difference, and keeps you motivated. Meanwhile, keep investing and don't touch the money. You will need to take major risk and invest time into whatever you want to do. I was able to net over $420k n profits in the last quarter from my diversified portfolio strategy, I'm planning for retirement at 65 but my initial thought process was based on retiring early and living off that the rest of my life.
