I KNEW something was suspicious!! In the original lore Wukong obtained several layers of immortality (first by learning it from a tao master, then by erasing his name from the book of death, then by consuming immortality peach, immortality wine, pill of longevity, then by achieving buddhahood in the end of journey to the west). So there is no way he can be killed, that's why they asked for help from buddha, and even buddha decided to imprison him for 500 years so he can meet his master. Then moving to him fighting the heavenly hosts before the arrival of Buddha. Then to him striking out his name from the book of the dead and more towards the beggining of the tale of the monkey king. @teakchain0145
@@villahermosasebastian8794 Like I said, still goated, but I was pretty sure the reason why they ended it as is due to the fact that they went bankrupt (not because of the game, but other reasons).
I love that in the 1st ending we’ve seen where he did end up wearing the crown, he was in armor. Where as in this version, he was in a Taoist shirt!!! Taoist! Meaning he’s completely out of that Buddhist realm the highest Taoist achievement is to understand and be in command of the “Tao/Dao”, which makes one the same as the cosmos...WuKong’s first teacher where he learned all his abilities was PuTiLaoZu, a Taoist ZhenRen (real man/ true master, highest level of Taoist practice)...now he’s finally back at his own root!!!! He did not accept that Buddhist crown!
When they reintroduced Wukong as "The Great Sage's Broken Shell", the goosebump is unreal. Fun fact, "Stone Monkey" is what they call Wukong before he learned any magic and was still on his journey to find the secret of immortality. After he became all powerful and essentially immortal, everyone refers to him as "The Great Sage" or in chinese "大圣" which can be read as "Ta Sheng". So essentially we fought all phase of Wukong's life in this final boss. This was also how his story unfolds in the original 1986 tv show Journey to the West, a series that they probably heavily based this game off. The soundtrack of that tv show can also be heard in this game as well, which is really really amazing to me.
In thisscene, Erlang Shen's transformed appearance faithfully reproduces the original description in Journey to the West. Erlang Shen displayed a top-tier magical power: Fa Tian Xiang Di(法天象地 Imitate heaven and earth). When using this magical power, the practitioner transforms into the likeness of heaven and earth, mimicking their scale, emulating the sky, imitating the earth, becoming as tall as the sky and as vast as the earth. The Fa Tian Xiang Di does not belong to the seventy-two transformations, it is a rare magical skill in "Journey to the West" used only by Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen. The seventy-two transformations can only change one's height to a thousand zhang(仗 1 zhang approximately 3.3m), while the Fa Xiang Tian Di can transform one's height to ten thousand zhang.
I see many people who don't understand the meaning of Fa Tian Xiang Di, so I'll explain😄: Fa Tian Xiang Di is also the name of a magical power in "Journey to the West". Using this magical power will allow the caster to transform into heaven and earth, imitate the scale of heaven and earth, imitate the sky, imitate the earth, be as tall as the sky, as wide as the earth, and imitate the size of Pangu. It is a skill that can be as tall as heaven and earth, and belongs to a great magical power. According to mythology, after Pangu died, his head turned into Mount Tai, and his eyes turned into the sun and the moon. The only two people who can use Fa Tian Xiang Di in the whole book are Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen. Sun Wukong only used it three times in the whole book. Fa Tian Xiang Di does not belong to the Seventy-Two Transformations. It is a magical power that is rarely used in "Journey to the West". The Seventy-Two Transformations can only transform a person to a height of a thousand feet, while Fa Tian Xiang Di can transform a person to a height of ten thousand feet.

Theres a theory on the chinese platform that in order to truly be free from the heavens control, the physical body must be destroyed, Erlang helped him with that plan in the secret ending, smth like this
I also heard that too, at the beginning of the game when Erlang “killed” Wukong i thought he was evil but now after this rematch with Erlang, i realized he and Wukong actually set up a plan to help Wukong get rid of the headband without the notice of the Heaven Palace, i really got fooled easily tbh :))))))
"Si Da Tian Wang" it's the real name of these 4 Budaah Decrees' Guardians 😅 (Northern "Duo Wen Tian Wang" Green color, has a Magical Umbrella; Eastern "Chi Guo Tian Wang" White color, playing a string instrument of "Pi Pa"; Southern "Zeng Zhang Tian Wang" Cyan color, using a double-edged sword; Western "Guang Mu Tian Wang" Red color, with a Dragon who's the leader of all dragons; They are both wearing Sino Tang Armors.)
This game is an absolute masterpiece! The effort they’ve put into creating it is evident in every aspect. I am in awe of their passion, creativity, and dedication. Every detail, mechanic, and captivating storyline is a testament to the immense amount of work and heart they’ve invested in this project.
Except the game itself. Don't get me wrong, the art direction here is superb, but 80% of the game is a chore to play. Bosses are super easy, empty stages, repetitive designs for minor bosses. Watching this game is way better than playing it
Chinese media is claiming there are more but none have been found yet. Give it a few more days and we'll know either by people finding it or datamining. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more of these animated graphic scenes hidden tbh. There are a lot of optional bosses.
This is just the beginning of the myth, Wukong still has a long way to go to complete the journey ahead. Wukong will go to the Heavenly Palace to fight against the true gods, and there are dozens of true gods living in the Heavenly Palace.
If you dont know about journey to the west this game is going to be confusing. I read journey to the west and i was still completely lost about wtf was going on for almost the entire story mode
Some understandings of Buddhism and Taoism will help. In short, they both try to identify where human beings’ sufferings are coming from and how to deal with them without fully resorting to supernatural things
This is epic!! Marvelous artwork!! I can't help screaming for it. The superiority is beyond my words can describe. Damn, what did I do on the English and literature class? Now, nothing in my head can depict my excitement.
Between you and me, Erlang once rebelled against heaven. He was the nephew of the Jade Emperor. They had the same experience, so he helped the monkey. The story of Erlang God and his nephew is also quite good.
Others have said it's because it's on TH-cam of course so it's gonna be different. I guess the game has a streamers copyright protection so they can stream without getting copyrighted but it just changes to some other generic music? Other games have this feature and some game devs just make their music copyright free so you don't have to worry about it at all but not all devs can do that part I guess because they probably paid a good chunk of change for a license and don't own the music as it was made by someone else and they hold the rights to sell it and make money. And blah blah blah or something lol
"There are the Gods of the Four Great Kings, the Gods of the Thirty-Three, the Gods of Yama, the Joyful Gods, the Gods Who Love to Create, the Gods Who Control the Creations of Others, the Gods of Brahmā’s Host, and gods even higher than these." Cr.Tipitaka
Honestly every time i watch gameplays of this new Game. It always makes me remind of Asura's wrath in terms of fight choreography they make, along with the usual Buddism style.
The gist of the game is about freedom. Achieve immortality and fame but be forever under control (headband) or freedom to lead your life. Erlang couldn't understand why would Wukong gave up what everyone would crave for. Erlang and Wukong have caused a scene in the celestial palace before but both chose different path, Erlang chose to submit to the heavens and while Wukong chose to break free to retire to the mountain. Wukong told Erlang that the headband can only controls the physical body but not his spirit thus had a bet with Erlang and chose death with the believe his successor (the gamer) will inherit his spirit and finally walk his path freely without the headband. After defeating Erlang and the heavenly kings, Erlang said his "knot in the heart" was finally unravelled. Wukong was right and won the bet. In a way, it also describes Game Science. Be under the auspice of Tencent with it's huge resources but be just a insignificant department and restricted or break free and choose your own destiny.
I like this ending . Wukong born of the heaven and earth is the one who dared to defy the ruling of the heavenly court . He should have never been bounded by the Buddha "crown ". He is the defiant. He belonged to no faction of the powers. He is WUKONG ! Glad to see he finally reborned and freed .
Plot 101 : 1. Wukong enlightened, no need to live in the sky, Celestial Court bad at him 2. Wukong sealed (and dead) split the senses into 6 3. Destined work to revive Wukong 4. Bad ending : Destined given Wukong band (symbol of the 6 relics combined), repeat from number one, waiting for the next Destined 5. Good ending : Destined reject Wukong band (become regular monke), become new, full Wukong because it's his mind trademark, never submit to anyone or any destiny WUKONG REINCARNATION ATTAINED NOT THROUGH THE POWERS OR RELICS, BUT THROUGH THE LEGACY OF HIS MIND, ONCE DESTINED SUBMIT TO THE DESTINY (THAT HE SHOULD BECOME WUKONG) THE TASK ITSELF FAILED REBEL TO THE END BEAUTIFUL
Could someone please explain to me just what the heck just happened in this ending? Like our protag is still alive? The flashback means what? Im just extremelly confused right about now.
From my perspective, after this fight with Erlang Shen and Four King, then the Final one with Great Sage’s broken shell…the protagonist became new Wukong to continue the plan to wreak havoc on the Celestial Palace, the Wukong drinking alone at the end in the dark is the protag ready to start the fight with the Celestials at the very beginning….again
Unlike in the first ending, he resisted that golden crown thing from the monk. Also that animation was journey to the west in reverse order. Perhaps it shows the destined one gaining wukong's memories, might also be a hint on how to trigger a new ending
If you really need to understand the lore people like you should read everything in the game. The game explains everything and then there are lazy people like you who don't read and just fight without understanding...If an npc is saying something understand what he is saying instead of just listening and if there are reading materials, read it...
To put it simple, Erlang runs an outsource company but kinda wishes to join the largest Heaven Court Incorporated. First time he fixed the Monkey King problem his company didn't get paid enough. He probably started holding grudge since then.
Explained to people who don't quite understand why Erlang Shen turned into a giant monster: because Erlangshen uses the spell of “Manipulating Heaven and Earth,” which allows his body to transform into the limit of its power. In the original Journey to the West, this form of Erlang Shen is described as “as tall as a mountain, with a blue face and fangs, and teeth as sharp as spears. ” Here's the original description from Journey to the West: ”那真君抖擞神威,摇身一变,变得身高万丈,两只手,举着三尖两刃神锋,好便似华山顶上之峰,青脸獠牙,朱红头发,恶狠狠,望大圣着头就砍。Erlangshen, using his divine power, transformed himself and became 10,000 feet tall, holding a three-pointed, two-bladed divine blade in his two hands, so that resembled the peak on the top of Mount Huashan, with a blue face, fangs, and vermilion red hair, he looked at the Great Sage fiercely and slashed toward his head.“

像电影一样的感受。与四大天王的战斗,像小时候做的梦。巨大的天神、法器、灵光……

I see many people who don't understand the meaning of Fa Tian Xiang Di, so I'll explain😄:
Fa Tian Xiang Di is also the name of a magical power in "Journey to the West".

Okay this all make sense now.
There are two endings after defeating Stone Wukong Boss:
1. Player fails to inherit Wukong's memories. They are given the headband and trapped in stone forever, submitting to heaven's control. Reincarnated without Wukong's personality or soul, essentially losing the battle to break free from heaven. Loser's Ending.
2. If player defeats Erlang and the four heavenly kings before facing Stone Wukong Boss, they'll successfully inherit Wukong's memories, REJECTING the headband. Then reincarnate as the Original Sun Wukong with everything intact, continuing the fight against heaven seen here in the flashback cutscene 31:53(present time of the player toasting fallen comrades) after the original legend was portrayed in reversed. Winner's Ending.
5:41 That is impressive 😮
Theres a theory on the chinese platform that in order to truly be free from the heavens control, the physical body must be destroyed, Erlang helped him with that plan in the secret ending, smth like this
I guess so
I also heard that too, at the beginning of the game when Erlang “killed” Wukong i thought he was evil but now after this rematch with Erlang, i realized he and Wukong actually set up a plan to help Wukong get rid of the headband without the notice of the Heaven Palace, i really got fooled easily tbh :))))))

They should remake this and include the whole story. The original story was epic. One of the four greatest literatures in ancient chinese.
This is just the beginning of the myth, Wukong still has a long way to go to complete the journey ahead. Wukong will go to the Heavenly Palace to fight against the true gods, and there are dozens of true gods living in the Heavenly Palace.

I don't know, maybe it's copyright😂
Others have said it's because it's on TH-cam of course so it's gonna be different. I guess the game has a streamers copyright protection so they can stream without getting copyrighted but it just changes to some other generic music? Other games have this feature and some game devs just make their music copyright free so you don't have to worry about it at all but not all devs can do that part I guess because they probably paid a good chunk of change for a license and don't own the music as it was made by someone else and they hold the rights to sell it and make money. And blah blah blah or something lol

Best game and Best Wu Kong ever 🎉

Explained to people who don't quite understand why Erlang Shen turned into a giant monster:
because Erlangshen uses the spell of “Manipulating Heaven and Earth,” which allows his body to transform into the limit of its power. In the original Journey to the West, this form of Erlang Shen is described as “as tall as a mountain, with a blue face and fangs, and teeth as sharp as spears. ”
Here's the original description from Journey to the West:
”那真君抖擞神威,摇身一变,变得身高万丈,两只手,举着三尖两刃神锋,好便似华山顶上之峰,青脸獠牙,朱红头发,恶狠狠,望大圣着头就砍。Erlangshen, using his divine power, transformed himself and became 10,000 feet tall, holding a three-pointed, two-bladed divine blade in his two hands, so that resembled the peak on the top of Mount Huashan, with a blue face, fangs, and vermilion red hair, he looked at the Great Sage fiercely and slashed toward his head.“
