I travel for business more often than personal travel and usually have to check a bag to bring clothes and tools. So my tip is have a 1-2 day survival kit in what I carry on in my backpack.
Print Everything! Confirmation Emails, Reservations, Tickets, etc. If something happens to your phone, not having to find a business center to print all your itineraries it will keep you on track for your trip.
The department of foreign affairs in my country has some kind of list where you can sign up yourself, so the embassy knows that I’m in that certain country in case of natural desasters or crises/conflicts.
Mostly for on the flight: 1) bring carabinas, it's so useful both on the plane if it's a longer one, to use as a hanger and for hostels /hotels and for the backpack. Then you can clip. 2) slippers for longer flights, so you don't have to put on your shoes. 3) always a complete outfit+ meds and other essentials if you don't have a carry on. 4) totebag for those bulky warm layers+scarf. Then at the departure put them on and in the flight off they go, no extra cost. 5) the water pouch that's filled. 6) powerbank... 7) a clip or diy version for your phone to hang from the seat.
So I don't lose anything, I have all my crucial items attached on lanyards to my purse - wallet, keys, eyeglass case, phone, passport pouch. I know it is not elegant but it works. this my purse every day (not just traveling)
One tip I would like to expand on .. the belt tip …, so yes you’re correct about not wearing metal belt. They will FOR SURE 🚨 alarm ! However if u wear plastic ones too they CAN ALARM. The body scanners are not a metal detector so from time to time they will pick up the belts even if they are plastic. Plz trust me on this .. I know what I’m talking about
A really good travel hack: If your luggage is overweight then you should place it on the side of the weight thing. This hack works in most south Europen airports and in Canada and the USA
This is great information for someone who hasn't travelled in awhile. TSA seems to be tricky to a lot of people but a few simple tricks and you can breeze right through! Great video!
Do you have any recommendations for travelling to China? Many of your tips won't work there, because they block access to any google service and many other sites. It would be nice to know, what does work and what is safe to use.
Local food tour on the first day is something I never thought I'd do but it's great to learn what to order and seek out for the rest of your time at the location (eg don't get pasta or pizza in Venice)
Although the concept is nice with AirTags and never have had to freak out and find lost luggage, it is nice to have. I just personally haven’t had to worry about luggage since I carry on a roller bag and a backpack combo.
An RFID protected pouch. Decanted anti-biotic ointment for my nose, cracked cuticles (dry airplane air), lips, etc. BoA (Box of Awesome--YT 'Adventures with Sarah'--Packing an Emergency Travel Kit). I would really like to see PH's take on a BoA! Designated Pouches: Tech/BoA; 'Wet' toiletries; 'Dry' Toiletries; Main 'Wardrobe'; 'Undergarments'; 'Accessories'. Easier to locate what I know I packed! Crossbody 'Sling' bag: I use it as a strap to attach my personal bag to my spinner bag at the airport. I also wear it during the flight, to have all my important stuff when I leave my seat for a break. Note: A friend of mine flying 1st Class to Europe caught a flight attendant with her purse in the lavatory! It was several years ago, the airline did ZERO about it.
Has anyone ever really gotten their lost baggage back because of an AirTag? Serious question. I don't know a single person where this did anything. Yes, they were able to see their luggage is at an airport. Just nobody else cared. Airline reps will not go and hunt down a suitcase because a person shows them where it is. If you don't have your contact info and address on and inside the luggage for ground handlers to find it and put the bag into the "normal" lost and return cycle, the airtag will not help you. If anything, it will make you even more frustrated. So if there are any positive outcomes, I'd be interested in how it went down. Was the airtag really the key to getting the luggage back?
I don't know why but seeing you scold your "uber driver" at 8:43 made me almost spit my coffee out in laughter. I've seen you guys mention this tip a few times, would you mind going into detail of how you would approach the situation with the driver? I look very small and young, and so while I don't want to get ripped off, I also know I need to worry about safety.
'Look up google maps so you know where to get off'... I remember being on high alert when on public trasport pre-i phone literally wetting my pants in SE Asia because I had to count stops and the signs weren't in the English aphabet. Thank god for progress !
I found out that if you travel with several boxes of magic the gathering decks right next to each other, they look suspiciously like something that might go boom under the x-ray.
Usually it's the airport staff who makes jokes. Which I couldn't care less about, I just wanna go through security. But sometimes they find it suspicious or complain that I'm unfriendly. Just I don't give a damn.
@stephclarke6850 I understand the need to get that Woodwick Seaside Mimosa with a hearth wick home. Believe me, I've been there. But let's get real you can check it, ship it, order it direct etc. Regardless it's hardly a tip or a hack to be told on TH-cam you're going to have to bag that candle up to get through. Youre at security it's either coming with you or it's not. And that's at their discretion. So if you cared about getting that souvenir home, you'd probably check it, mail it, or order it home directly lol.
@@mdmcd6273 to each their own, I guess. I appreciated the tip regarding race medals because I’m travelling for races for the first time and didn’t even think of that potentially being an issue for the security screening.
@LadyHavoc Congratulations, you're unnecessarily smug and youve gained the travellers best kept secret... you now know what to do when you decide to carry on a candle in a jar!? Like wtf? The person you're replying to was voicing criticism politely (common and often encouraged) that it's recycled content. Which to be fair some of it, for the last year or more, has been. At any rate, with how you came across, if the content of the video held any make or break advice for you...Then Gods speed and don't forget to check for dust bunnies or to recon your route to and from the airport / accoms Mme. Havoc :).

Osprey Farpoint or Sojourn by the looks of it. Hope that helps.

Looks like a Sojourn Porter, probably the 30-liter-size.
