- People are uncomfortable talking or even thinking about death-yet it will happen to each of us at some point. Teaching from Psalm 90, Alistair Begg contrasts our brief lives with God’s eternity and reminds us that we die because we rebel against His righteous ways. How can we prepare to meet a holy God? Only by trusting in the provision He has made in Christ. As believers rest in His mercy and grace, we gain wisdom to number our days aright.

Alistair Begg is but a man. Follow Jesus, not Alistair. He is fallible.
Praise be to God and Lord Jesus Christ for continuing to work through people like Alistair Begg. Life is too short to be wasted on bashing others and pointing out things that don't align with our way of thinking while dismissing the fact that we all need God's grace and forgiveness. Spread the Gospel and let God be the Savior or the Judge as you continue focusing on yourself being conformed to the image of Christ, growing in love and forgiveness.

Amen. Christianity is not about doctrine, theological complexity or using the Bible to criticize others with (especially your own brethren), but rather conformity to the image of Jesus Christ. The demands of the Christian life really is about selfless love. Anyone who manifests this genuine Christian love, does so because of the transforming work of God within their lives and consequently whoever does not love in this way does not know God. This is loud and clear in (1st John 4:7-8; Beloved let us love one another for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God for God is love.)... Have a blessed day.

I wonder if this ‘controversy’ is going to be the beginning of a split to reform Christians like how people left the Catholic Church.
All I know is if I was gay and about to get married to my gay friend and I saw Alister Begg sitting on the front row of my wedding - I would absolutely throw up.
I would be begging for God to get me out of my sin and I would 100% know God would rescue me in a special ops way. It would have to be special because He would have to be so gentle with me as I would not want to leave an addictive lifestyle at the same time I’d want to get out asap.
I would have zero doubt God would deliver me even though I would have no idea how He would rescue me.
That is who Alister Begg is to me.
Not every pastor, Christian friend or famous Christian author would give me this reaction.
Point of Alister’s advice is very specific to the grandmother. I agree with Alister that not everyone should go to a trans wedding. Having your own relationship with God and following Him is the point of Alister’s advice.

How wonderful to listen to a pastor who holds forth the words of Scripture and then goes on to explain the text in terms of Biblical truths. Not what do I think or what does the establishment expect me to say the Bible says! Little wonder that he has faced such backlash. As Paul once said "I would have been freed, but God ordained that I go to Rome". Thank you Pastor Begg - I continue to pray for you.

Praise God for drawing me to The Savior at a young age. Soon after I saw my little cousin die, then my three year old son when I was 29 and my oldest son when I was 59. I've always praised him for my mortality. I so look forward to seeing my Savior! My Comforter! My Sure Foundation! My God!

Some people forget that Christianity is not merely about doctrine and using God's word for pointing out every word that doesn't align with their way of thinking but is summed up in one law: Love. He who knows how to love knows all the laws of God. Pharisees will spend their limited days on earth calling out other people's flaws not realizing how desperately they need to repent themselves.

Is it aright for a Christian to be cremated? I find it difficult to accept, but Traditional funerals are just too expensive these days!

This body is passing away, and we will have a new body. What happens to this body will not make a difference in the end.
My pastor father was cremated and God can certainly raise up a new body. How about all His saints who were cremated by fire for their faith! Hus, Latimer and Ridley, Savonarola, Wycliffe,Tyndale. God bless you and see you in heaven someday :-)
If you can believe that a spirit was put into the womb of a virgin to become the perfect Lamb of God, who willingly gave His fleshly life so that all who believe can have everlasting life . . . If you can believe that all of creation was brought into being by the utterance of a Word . . .
"ashes to ashes, dust to dust" - cremation is just getting your flesh to dust faster (read in Ezekiel about the bones)
There is nothing that God cannot do, trust in His Son, don't put limitations on God.
