@@bluesrike Wrong, Baku's stretch from the last proper corner until the first corner is longer than the S/F straight of Fuji Speedway. Longer both in distance and time spent on full throttle.
0:48 I wish they'd skip the chicane and use the other alternative, a la Algarve this year, making it a high-speed single corner. This three-apex configuration kills the lap flow unnecessarily.
I'm gonna say it I'm gonna say it I'm Gonna Say It I'M GONNA SAY IT better than suzuka Edit: Sorry, I was a doofus when it came to F1 tracks back then. Please ignore.
Stijn Bijlsma It is indeed, although it counted for nothing as he made a real mess of the race, limping home in a very disappointing 12th place finish. Thus making his fight for the title harder
@@WiggyF1 possibly, but Hamilton was going to be pitting due to the massive flat spots he had on his tyres after locking up at the first corner. In addition, he was given a drive through penalty for his antics at the first corner
@@SiVlog1989 It didn't help Felipe in the end anyway for the championship so justice I guess was served, thank god there is no longer a race there anymore
C3lloman in the universe that likes a track that can fit 2 cars side by side on more than just the front stretch. Suzuka is great for watching cars go round, but absolute shit for racing.
What a good race track. Just not Suzuka. But Japan knows how to make good race tracks.
Suzuka is good but not racing wise, fuji is a good track because you can overtake almost everywhere because the tarmac so wide, Suzuka is a test track
@@koox8108 yeah sure not racing wise, seen the 2005 Japanese Grand prix? Or the 1988 Japanese Grand Prix? Or the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix?

If this track was still on the calendar, the home stretch would be the longest DRS Zone ever.
Yah with 1,55 km main straight length
Longer than baku?
@@dink7458 Yep, longer than Baku.

@@TheJokerit19 But that’s not what they’re talking about. They’re talking about the actual straight.
This is one of my favourite f1 onboards, really like the car/track combination and Hamiltons style
0:24-0:35 insane breaking distance...epic
It's crazy how later F1 cars can brake compared to GT3 cars!
I want Toyota back to F1. This track belongs to Toyota actually.

Agreed
No i think it's very cool how they have to brake while turning
@@lorenzorosso7725disagree, carrying higher speeds into the corner leads to more overtaking chances
"Good driving! You qualify for race!" --Namco Pole Position
It's a crime that the drivers don't get trolled by hearing "Prepare to Qualify" at Fuji.
Idk if it’s just the main straight or what but I love this track
Have the track go straight at 0:48 and the circuit is perfect
Willie Pete was here I like the technical bit at the end
The old track is faster than this
Belphegore I agree. I always prefer high-speed turns over slower ones.

thank you very much, someone needed to say it.
Good times!!
Is this the pole lap?

Oh goodness I hated these 2.4L V8’s. Little did I know I’d hate the subsequent engines even more.
To think V8s were ANYWHERE as bad as the V6s 😂

originally not. But tilke designed the current layout for its redesign in 2005 I think it was. So actually it is, yeah.
