Amazing walk, brings back so many memories, i was born and lived only a mile away from Egremont, i went to Wyndham school the country's first comprehensive school from 1968 to 73, Wyndham school now demolished and rebuilt as West Lakes Academy. When you walked down to the castle i remember on the opposite side the cinema that has long gone, i saw many classic movies there in my childhood. A lot of the main street still looks very familiar, such happy childhood memories.🥰🥰🥰

Very useful have been there years ago but having another visit. I don't remember that glass building behind the mining sculptures. The castle worth a visit and the Ice cream shop.
I hated school. So did nothing. Did not conform. Wilson headmaster could not suspend me. So i stripped ,cleaned , repainted. The half wheel monument to the miners. Now moved from original siteting.

I grew up in egremont.. me da was a redman Florence pit . Went to school at bookwell. Good footage on summer day. Grim in winter.
