Hello!! I'm a kenyan, what are the chances of getting work permit to Canada after signing job offer letter under the Lmia, getting CAQ approval, filling Employment insurance and with completion of biometric
This was such great information. Especially for someone like me that has recently obtained Security+. My next was going to be Cyber Security Analysis. However I noticed you mentioned networking, ethical hacking, forensic and of course the incident response handler certs. For an unseasoned person, which cert would you recommend next? thanks
What Keaton was saying about doing one thing and another on the side is exactly what I did. I got my foundation in networking and I enjoyed security as well. So, I learned it on my own and got the CompTIA Sec+ cert. Now, I just landed my first SOC role and I start in a few weeks. Great advice in this interview.
Kinda old video by this point but had to say definitely gonna be a frequent watch. Currently a NOC technician trying to move to my companies SOC. The advice here is a great road map to moving from network to security and incident response
Sorry for the late reply on these. Yes I do work in a SOC now, my best recommendation, especially of you are already in a NOC role is getting the security+, and after that if you are still dealing with the experience catch 22, work in live platforms like range force to build your skills as an analyst so when you do get that interview you can use things like that to offset a lack of experience. Best of luck!
