- Ted Stryker welcomes to Tuna on Toast via zoom, the super talented and very inspiring Frank Iero! I wanna say straight off the top, I love this dude, his energy that he naturally has is totally infectious. This chat was initially solely for radio, our 5 minutes of talking ended up being 30 minutes.
Frank is a member of My Chemical Romance as well as the SUPER GROUP L.S. Dunes!
L.S. Dunes features Anthony Green, Travis Stever, Tim Payne and Tucker Rule. Their full length album titled "Past Lives" is now available! It's an awesome 11 songs!
Frank and Stryker discuss playing The Troubadour, Frank at one point thought The Troubadour was his kryptonite. The guys also talk about recording the L.S. Dunes album and Frank getting severely injured falling off a ladder that could have been way worse than it actually was (and it already was bad)
The guys talk about how playing music with friends is not always easy.
Frank shares how well bands like Underoath treated My Chemical Romance when they were a younger band. He also gives love to Face to Face and Green Day.
Frank tells Stryker how the My Chemical Romance song Foundations of Decay" came to be.

My friends 15 year old step son around the time of the black parades release told him how he hates the emo and when he asked what bands he liked he said 5 emo bands one being mcr. People widely had an opinion on emo music because of how emo kids dress it was really hilarious how widespread this was. When I was doing the band thing I only liked making pop punk music and friends that were metal heads would make fun of me like one friend said I only like playing that kinda music because it’s so easy so I played a pantera riff and he said why don’t you make music like that? Because it’s not what I like to create it’s fun to play and just because the music isn’t difficult to play doesn’t mean it’s bad. But people think like this idc what genre a song is if it’s good it’s good.
