    The most negative impact between low and higher settings is on clouds. In my opinion just one of the most important issues in flight simulation.

      Ya the clouds certainly take the biggest impact. Then, other than water I see a lot of impact with shadows and reflections. But it is stuff you can probably live without if you need to sacrifice quality to get your system to perform better. I also recorded in 4K, so I still wonder if 1080p would have a larger impact with antialiasing. Maybe a test for the future. Thanks for the comment.

    Honestly I don’t see much difference on Ultra and low for most graphic options. I think it’s partially because the selection of scenes for each graphic option is not very typical. Eg. 40:44 LOD difference should be more obvious at high altitude, instead of on the ground as shown in the video.

      Ya. It was tricky to get the right scene for each. But I agree. You might see more of a difference if you were higher. For LOD, try to look in the background. You can see some of the changes happening. Lots of the difference is the shadowing I found.

      @@VRFlightWorld I took your advice and got much higher, and there was no change. I am pretty hungry, though.

    I have Quest 2, Virtual Desktop, DLSS 3.8.10. MSFS 2020 looks great today at any flight altitude and ultra-high graphics settings on the RTX 4070 ti Super 16 GB graphics card. I wonder how it will look tomorrow, because MSFS is variable? :-)

    I love this game... I have a 3070 ti in watercooling, and I admit that the game already runs quite well, but would it be even more beautiful with a 4080?

    Thanks so much!! Great video.. I can't believe the difference in some of the settings. I wonder if it's possible to also show the difference in FPS, while the changes in the Graphic settings are being displayed?? Keep up the good work.

      Ya I thought about doing that. Part of the reason I didn’t is because it would be tricky tor you to see much of a difference. It’s going to vary so much between systems. For this video I’m not only running in 4K but also recording 4K on max settings at times. So it’s not a totally fair test as the recording also makes it harder on the system….. but the real reason is that I forgot to do it with a bunch of them at the start and had spent too much time to re-record them. Sorry. Maybe I can do small tests between some settings in the future for that purpose.

    The only negative is that many of these settings should be shown from an aircraft in motion. Terrain and Object LOD sliders at higher settings have things that seem to just pop in at random very close the the aircraft in lower end systems because these really affect CPU more than GPU. It is a good video overall though.

    • @VRFlightWorld
      @VRFlightWorld  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ya. I agree. It definitely has its limits. Maybe I can take some of the settings and do another test with an aircraft in motion. It’s not as precise because the replays don’t appear to be exact but I think it would be close enough for that. Thanks for the comment!

      @@VRFlightWorld I understand the difficulty of doing that and I found most of the video useful. I am considering dropping down from Ultra settings to High settings because there is really not much difference. Some things like Ray Trace are more GPU dependent, and some things like trees and grass are more CPU intensive, and even with an 13900KF or 14900KF, the CPU is typically the limit of frame rate, so even uloading the CPU slightly might make a difference between an ocassional stutter and no stutter, and things like ambient oclustion and ray trace, where are mostly GPU, could stay at the highest setting. I have to have my clouds at Ultra though. LOL.

      @shenmisheshou7002 ya, I plan to do the same when just playing for fun and not recording. Partly because my computer heats of my room like crazy. Those big GPUs put out a ton of heat when they working close to or at 100%

      @@VRFlightWorld They do indeed. I rarely fly more than an hour or two a day, but still the GPU and CPU are cranking out the BTUs.

      @@VRFlightWorld I think I saw 106 F on top of my toaster oven. But I was getting 100 FPS, on same CPU as yours, 64GB Ram and a 4070 GeForce. 100MBS Download speed. I haven't changed any graphics settings since it installed the recommended ones at the first connection.
