Sleeping In An UNINHABITED HOUSE In Ifugao! Philippines Rice Terraces in Mayoyao

- MANY HOUSES AND RICE TERRACES WERE ABANDONED IN MAYOYAO, IFUGAO OVER THE LAST FEW DECADES.
But now there's a plan to restore them.
Some of Mayoyao's rice terraces are UNESCO World Heritage listed - which makes this even more critically important! Keeping a culture alive - it's so important!

whats the model of your motorcycle?
Suzuki V-strom 250 🙂
@@KumanderDaot great looking machine, thanks for the response mate
Why do you prefer a scooter vs a motorcycle in the Philippines?
This is a motorcycle. 250cc adventure bike. I don't ride scooters
KD adda banig dita 😅
i thought she wanted to say: we are offering these accomondations for a fool...but it was just a pause in her sentence
You are hearing things lately haha
🤣😂😝
@@KumanderDaot I pay very good attention. Her pause was a bit longer then people usually would take. And I think it was worth to mention,,,hahaha..
👻🦹👍👍
your tattoo will be itchy if you eat gabi right away
Beware the aswang xD
No aswang in Ifugao. You can walk alone in the middle of the night and nobody bothers you.
The culture you had immersed in applies to the very basic existence of any civilization anywhere. You were given an experience experience few can only dream of, that is a very closely guarded opportunity for anyone. You are one of the few individuals given that opportunity. You had experienced few only dreams about, I guess you are one lucky person given a gift that is rare as a unicorn. Indeed I can see how genuinely you love the culture, you had elevated yourself way above any fair skinned vlogger set foot in my country. Teary-eyed watching this I consider you a friend even if in this life I had not met you. You truly are one of a kind. May the good lord safeguard you always.
Very well said sir!
marami na akong napanood na video blogs ng mga lokal travellers pero iba ang dating pag si kumander daot ang nagpresent. napaka genuine at inspiring. more power po idol
The Clint Eastwood of Vlogger cowboy Commander Daot. Truly a brave man to sleep alone in abandon ricefield watch tower. I dare any vlogger to do that.
I 've been to so many places in the PH just by watching your videos.
I feel like,am watching you doing Therapy...and its very Therapeutic...😂😆🤣
I commend the way you noticed how the abandoned homes were built and the way its pieces fit together like a puzzle (no nails); your narration is wonderful, you choose your words wisely, but most importantly, you do it with a smile on your face :))
Another Timeless Vlog by Kumander Daot. At par with documentaries for me
I know the pretty lady. I saw her from vlog of Sonny - Best ever food review show.. She's such a gentle soul when speaking, yet real Igorot by heart.. I love her
A very hard working and passionate tourism officer too! Mam Detchie is a legend!
What a beautiful place. Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures.
living on the province is very hard life you donlt have a lot of money but you don't get hungry. I am happy kummander that you experience lfe in the province
Kumander Daot, you are very adventurous. You've been to places a few of us Filipinos will go .very informative videos. Salute to you sir..
Wow nice place to sleep and so unique! So, where's the bathroom? I think the ifugao are the oldest tribe that they still continue to practice their culture and traditions!
3:01 Kumander Daot wearing the traditional "Bahag".
Bahag Swag 🤣🤣🤣
Good stuff Kumander D ...so interesting, informative and just a lovely portrayal of a magic area that those fortunate to have seen and experienced it can sit back and really appreciate your efforts in bringing it alive again .Thank you 🦘
Happy Father’s Day Kumander Daot! I am enjoying being an arm chair traveler thru your vlogs! ❤
Your mountain adventures are always so enjoyable. The Ifugao woodwork and craftsmanship are truly spectacular, especially because it is done without nails and is so precise in joining the pieces together. Very impressive! And, once again, I love your drone shots! The views are so beautiful, and your drone work is second to none. Thanks for taking us along, KD!
banawe-ifugao-cagayan in the north, t'boli-cotabato-bukidnon in the south. both are one the bests of your vlogs..
While I'm still in the middle of the video, when you started talking about those houses in Ifugao, I kind of envious towards the Japanese because a lot of their ancestral structures are still well maintained because the craftsmanship is still being passed down to the newer generation but for us Filipinos, I think it is because we were colonized by a lot of colonizers, we tend to move on and forget this craftsmanship that people were using before. I believe our sense of identity was lost in the process of colonization and the newer generation tend to move on and forget the things of the past. I'm still grateful because the people in the mountain province and Ifugao still treasure their ancestry.
I feel like a lot of history has been hidden or lost because of colonization. It's a great shame because the old culture is really do great...
300 years of colonization did wiped out 80 or 90 percent the of original craftmanship and culture and identity
How ever in the mountains, its the introduction of christianity contribute to the lost of lots of craftmanship,, i remember my grandfather said the missionaries urge the locals to destroy and burn some pottery and other crafts because they said it is associated with paganism and idolatry
loved it at 1:48 of the video - Sir KD you blurted out what a true blue Bisaya would also say. " ATAY " hahahahahahahahahah. Love your vlogs sir.
Quite an adventure kumander. How much does it cost to have a tour guide? Thanks kumander for another nice video!
KD had an Airbnb to stay😃. Thanks for showing us some of the remote places in the Mountain Province.
Before you're done in northern Luzon try to pass by the cave in Cagayan where the oldest homo sapiens was found. It is older than the tabon man. You're not able to explore the villa verde passage in malico a very historical place like the Dalton pass.
Kudos to you man you made saw a lot of things i feel i wouldnt see if i did saw it in your channel awesome journey bro thanks for promoting our country specially the places you went to was not really recognize more than it should
Yay!! Excited to watch now!!!Hi KD from🇨🇦
good to see the road condition there and wherever you go. I think it's good for the Dept of Works to follow you.
Mad respect to all the rice farmers. Hardest labour work and feeds the whole country and yet they get paid the least.
kumander daot go to Madungan dam and apayao road also in ilocos Norte since you're there
I like the concept of that abandoned house. Maybe I'll build one someday up in the mountains.
Following your vlogs, I think you've experienced the simplest and the extravagant way of life. Great journey with a great experience
You missed the Ifugao Day 😊 Probably you like the activities too
I love these kinds of videos from you. There are so many TH-cam videos that show the beaches and cities, but I love videos like this one that show the mountains and the deep-rooted cultures that live there. Thank you for sharing.
KD😊❤❤❤Mabuhay po kayo!!!🙏
wow How I wish I could reach that place also
I love watching your vlog, very informative and entertaining that's why i didn't skip any ads.
Diyos ti kumuyog kenka kumander daot. Bilib ako, ikaw na. God bless you on your journey exploring the north. Big thumps up👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
See to appreciate the farmers the hardwork that they have done, especially if you will do the ancient way to get the rice grains
your motorcycle is doing great in mountains
7:35 Thats pine knot, not bark. We use that to start fires at camp also. They hold a resin thats great for helping start a fire. Called fatwood also. Loved this video, so many wonderful mountain views. Looks like you picked the right motorcycle. Am glad you shared this video. thanks Kumander...Jim
Nice vlog so far komander risky travel

Too bad, he travels alone. His team are the people in the community that makes his vlog genuine and spontaneous. no script. The experience is the story itself.
Beautiful place. Hardworking Filipinos.
Nice kumander you travel, around Luzon,I'm from benguet,Baguio watching here in Saudi Arabia.
Wear underwear to avoid the double dribble, lol. You get leg day every day in those areas!
Nice Dong KD, keep showing us the the beautiful Philippines, I am Filipino from Gensan but never been in Ifugao and Banaue, and I would love to visit northern part of my country! soon, puhon 🙂
Thank you for appreciating the beauty & culture of my province Mayoyao Ifugao .we’re truly grateful for sharing the story of our place through your vlogs & showing it to the world, the simplicity ,hospitality ,culture and beauty of the province and people.❤
Kumander Daot, I am from Mayoyao (at least my father is) and watching you in the US. I can barely recognize the place. But I can still feel the pain of cooking rice. That is from harvesting, to drying, to removing the rice husk, gathering firewood. By the time, I cook my rice, I have to get prepared to start all over.
'always makes me think "I wish I live there" per video keep it up kumander! was it also cold in mayoyao?
Not as cold as Benguet but very pleasant!
The food looks amazingly delicious, Kumander D. is a gifted Vlogger how on earth did you do to reach that place. Thank you for sharing it's good for Tourism to boost themselves.
Beautiful mountains 🏔️

Been I mayoyao ifugao last 2007 and I expirience sleeping on a native house behind the Catholic church near a falls and it's so cold and creepy in the early morning and I sleep on the second floor where they put the rice.
You are so lucky they serve you kachew it’s hard to fine it now a days.
So delicious!
Kumander you conquered Ifugao. ❤❤❤
