Justices can interrupt whoever they want, lawyers cannot interrupt the Justices. When you're on the highest court in the land, you get extreme deference in argument.

Accordingly, for all intents and purposes, the First Amendment right hinges on Bytedance, not the shell TikTok US. And foreign corporations controlled by foreign governments do not have a First Amendment right.

I'm a TikTok Shop Partner. I literally will lose millions if TikTok stops operations. We are in the process of diversifying to another platform but that will take until September. I'm not sure I'll be able to pay everyone's salaries until then. A lot of the people who want TikTok banned don't quite get the full picture. The platform is more than just posting silly videos.
