UPDATE: On July 30, 2024, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved DARZALEX FASPRO® in combination with Velcade, Revlimid and dexamethasone (D-VRd) for induction and consolidation in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) who are eligible for an autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT). Patients will have the opportunity to receive this DARZALEX FASPRO®-based quadruplet therapy at initial diagnosis, providing them with a new treatment that may significantly improve outcomes.
I didn’t hear “KRD + Dara” mentioned. Daratumumab, Carfilzomib, Lenalidomide, and Dexamethasone It was presented as an option over VRD because of the peripheral neuropathy effects of Velcade. I’m about to start my 6th cycle. I can’t complain. Things seems to be going well.
Sir, I am Rahul from Chandigarh, India. My father has Multiple myeloma stage 3A. Age is 74 with Bp, Diabetes and stunts in heart in 2019. His doctor is giving darzalex inj 800mg every week. Doctor is not giving BLD regime because father got chest infection after second chemotherapy of BLD plus Darzalex. So he decided to stop all other treatments. Only Darzalex 800mg is going on. Today, first cycle of Darzalex will be completed. I am not sure whether we are getting right treatment or not. Please guide me.
I’ve been on Daratumumab for around 20 cycles. I’m fortunate that I’ve been very receptive to this treatment, I’ve noticed no side effects. I have been working through the treatment and my work is at times quite physical. When initially diagnosed I had broken ribs and compressed vertebrae. Years later after treatment with Zometa, I have no bone pain at all currently.
@@Kiwigd May I ask how old are you? I'm getting my first treatment tomorrow. I'm currently 51, I would have considered myself healthy. Bloodwork looks good otherwise.
hi there, good luck with your treatment. I am 57 now, 51 at diagnosis. I too 'thought' I was healthy.. I had some back pain, not really painful, but i sneezed and broke a rib, that kicked off a cascade of tests that led to an MM diagnosis.. @@JesusSanchez-xu2is

Is CD38 only present on Myeloma cells?
For the most part yes, but CD38 is on other normal cells in the body as well. There is limited off-target effect for this target.
