This video contains the full life story of Bhai Mani Singh ji in Hindi language. Bhai Mani Singh was a great Sikh personality and occupies a very esteemed position in Sikh history as one of the most famous martyrs (Shaheed) of the Sikh faith. Mani Ram or Mani Singh was not only a great scholar of Sikh sacred scripture and wrote books on Sikhi but was also a warrior who accompanied Guru Gobind Singh as one of his body guards on many occasions. The nature of his martyrdom in which he was dismembered joint by joint (Band Band Kataye) has become a part of the daily Sikh Ardas (prayer).

ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ (ਸ਼ਹੀਦ) (1670 - 9 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1737), ਅਠਾਰ੍ਹਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ, ਸਿੱਖ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਤ ਸਥਾਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਾਇਆ। ਪੜਾਅ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ, ਇੱਕ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦਲੇਰ ਆਗੂ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਰਦਾਸ (ਅਰਦਾਸ) ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦਾ ਸੰਕਲਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ 1961 ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗਰਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਪਾਦਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਪੁਸਤਕ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਿਤੀ; ਉਰਫ਼ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ (ਪਰਮਾਰ; ਰਾਜਪੂਤ) ਮੁਜ਼ੱਫਰਗੜ੍ਹ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਪਿੰਡ ਅਲੀਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ 1644 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਰਾਓ ਮਾਈ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ, ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਰਾਓ ਬੱਲੂ ਜੀ, ਛੇਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਫੌਜ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਪਰਮਾਰ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਹਾਨ ਰਾਜਪੂਤ ਸਮਰਾਟ, ਵਿਕਰਮਾਦਿਤਿਆ ਦੇ 23ਵੇਂ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ।
ਆਮ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਕੇਸਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਛਿੱਬਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਕੰਬੋਜ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁੱਲਟ [1822-1921], ਨਵੀਨ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਕ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਨਾਮ ਨੇੜੇ ਕੰਬੋਵਾਲ ਪਿੰਡ (ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ) ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੁੱਲਟ ਜੱਟ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦਾਅਵੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਰਾਜਪੂਤ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮਹਾਨ ਚੰਦਰਵੰਸ਼ੀ, ਪਰਮਾਰ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਉਸਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਰਾਓ ਬੱਲੂ, ਮਹਾਨ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਬੂ-ਉਲ-ਫਤਿਹ ਜਲਾਲ-ਉਦ-ਦੀਨ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ 'ਅਕਬਰ' (ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਕਬਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ) ਦੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ। ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਮੂਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਹਨ, ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਲਗਭਗ 1582-1600 (ਅ) ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਅਲੀਪੁਰ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੁਜ਼ੱਫਰਗੜ੍ਹ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨ, ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਵਸਿਆ।
ਇੱਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸੂਰਜ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹਨ:
