This little bag has surely become one of my favourite pieces. The design is so simple and fashionable I love everything about it. The best part is the price point is very reasonable. Here is how I converted this makeup bag into a cross body/ shoulder bag!

Do you see any signs of the seams splitting where the bag handle is attached to the purse itself? I’m concerned about putting all the weight of items onto the handle if I don’t do the grommets

No splitting but I understand your concern. Where the handle is… feels very flimsy. With a lot of weight I think the handles could start to develop structural issues. However because it’s such a small bag, you can’t carry too much anyways so I don’t think it’ll be a huge issue.

I bought the grommet kit and couldn’t bring myself to punch the holes so I ordered the aliexpress conversion kit

Make sure you insert the little nub into the space to allow for it to stay put.

Mine keeps on sliding up as well. I think yours stay on was because you have a twilly to prevent it from sliding up.
