I loved these as a kid. I am trying to grow as an adult but the rabbits keep eating my seedlings. I had a few stay from last year so I will try again this year. I’m I love the carpenter bees when they visit. These also make me laugh because people would plant these by the outhouses to show where they were.
I had four blooming hollyhock's this summer and they were gorgeous but a lot of work! First I had a problem with moths and I think leaf hoppers (little green flying moth like bugs). Neem oil spray seemed to help. I cleaned up all of them and cut some of the eaten leaves and for the past month they have been ok. We have had a lot of rain lately, tho and I am noticing leaf rust on the leaves. I want to save the seeds but I'm not sure if I can do this if the plants are infected.
