The ecoboost series of engines can be very problematical and when they go wrong (which they will, unless you are very very lucky) can be costly to fix. Many independent garages hate working on these engines out of warranty. Ford technicians don't like these engines either. Also I would not touch any VW designed product due to their past shenanigans and VW unreliability. Should you buy one in 2023? NO!!
It unfortunately has the worst inherited aspect of the Caddy; the cabin. Ford is coming out with the courier which is fully in house Ford and that will be far better.

VW engines often are very poor. VW DSG gearboxes are a disaster.
Do those engines have those awful wet belts?
Petrol ones yes. Steer clear from them
