I think she just grieved herself to death. I've been in the medical field for over 30 years and yes, this happens. It's not uncommon. Losing a child is a horrible horrible experience to go through. I'm so sorry for her family. May she RIP.

This woman spoke the truth, regardless of how it affected herself and family. Long before the Catholic church had even been exposed for abuse. When you lose family, a piece of your heart was ripped out. Your numb, lost, and confused by the loss. The devastation for some might not be easy to overcome. Some see death, as a natural order of thing's, while other's are traumatized for life, never forgetting, grieving excessively. I myself have gone through the excessive grieving that no Doctor on this planet knows anything about. I worked the medical field. It takes more then grief counseling to overcome an excessive grief. Trauma can be felt differently for all. Some places may make fun of the excessive grievance. I surrounded myself with love from friends, and family whom were supportive of the issue. However the emotional grief, left my heart weakened because I had trouble overcoming it all. Love thrives, but sadness can grip you so tight, it becomes debilitating. I lost my mother at 19. Lost my first Husband at 32. The two broke me down emotionally. Thank you for sharing. It takes courage to speak up. God bless you.

She's very close to another grave I visit in the garden area so I'll bring her some flowers on my next visit. The grave of Sheila Patricia Kelleher is very close to where some of my family are buried. Interesting that a close friend is interred with her which is most unusual although I know another example in Deansgrange. I'd love to know the story. I always wonder when I stop by a gravside what sort of a life they had.

Thank you for sharing all of that. I do understand why she felt that way about the Pope and the Catholic Church. I visited Italy and went to the Vatican while there. I am not Catholic and had a very hard time understanding how the people bowed and went on like they did. I truly felt disgust when I was there seeing all the gold and the money spent after reading about the priest who molested and assaulted children. Never being prosecuted or punished in any way. Thank God for people like Sinead not afraid to stand up for the people wronged. She was truly a great leader and what a voice. Going to Ireland this summer and hope to get to see her grave.

As a RC myself. Who has dealt with this issue & other members of my family. I do think the church should not have covered it up . What happened was/is evil . However it was not God's fault nor was it the fault of the RC church. It was evil people in the church. From all religious groups , police, teachers, doctors, nurse etc .where their is goodness their is also evil . These evil monsters join/work in these fields to get to the most vulnerable in society. Which they then can have power over .

I admire her strength And because she had such strength, and gave me strength to be a poet and end up, not only to write poetry about to put it out in the world, and to put it out in public, and so I actually am a poet, and I write a lot of poems all types of poems. I write poems dedicate to Sinead. I hope I write poems dedicated to Dolores to but I am so confident when I go to post out and it on my social medias and that’s thanks to Sinead and she gave me the strength to do that, and then I admire her for it, and she is someone I admired, because. she gave me the strength to do it to always speak my mind to speak whatever I wanted to speak about him, and it’s all thanks to Sinead O’Connor. She gave me that strength, not only to post all my phones out into the world and speak what’s on my mind but I just speak what I want to say, but she also gave me the strength to feel confident in myself that I could be a very good poet and because when I wanted to start doing poetry when I was 18 years old, I thought I would never be a good poet, and I thought well I’m not a good poet and things like that, but Sinead O’Connor gave me the confidence to do that and strength to do it and then that’s all thanks to her and she taught me poetry through her music, and. You’re such a great teacher she taught me more than that, but the big thing she taught me was poetry. She taught me how to to utilize it to Xpress what’s on my mind and it without her I wouldn’t have ever done that in my life. In fact, I’d probably write poems and leave them only to myself, but I don’t. I actually post them on social media today. Thanks to Sinead O’Connor, and it’s all thanks to Sinead O’Connor my lover Patrice, thanks to her she taught me poetry through her music and she taught me how to confidence in myself put my poems out there in the world and yeah, she told me that when I say thank you Sinead, I love you thank you for doing everything ever did for me and do for me she may have a young 24-year-old Sinead O’Connor fan today

I was deeply saddened to hear of Sinead’s death. I had not followed her on social media, so to see her pled for her family in 2017 broke my heart. I feel that she was failed by the mental health system. And was tragic that she was deeply grieving the loss of her son, till her own passing. My heart goes out to her children, and those whom knew and loved her. She was quite a force, living life on her own terms. Advocating social justice and outspoken about the stigma of mental health. She was a gift to our generation; and shall live on in the legacy of her music and children. That graveyard is Lovely. And made me smile to hear that there were Christmas lights on her headstone. I think God is Love; was fitting. As she devoted her life to the understanding of God. Thank you for sharing.
