Hi! I decided to pursue psychiatry as my residency of choice about a year and a half ago and I'm just about to do the last one of my 5 state exams (infectious diseases & epidemiology) to finally graduate medical school in my country. Your videos are always such a pleasure to listen to and learn new perspectives from!! Thank you so much!❤ - greetings from Bulgaria
I always like to put it like this: Eternity has passed before your birth without you ever knowing or experiencing anything, death is just like that, but you are never born again. Might sound counterintuitive, but we were all dead before birth , nonexistent for billions of years , after our infantesimally short lifespan relative to this universe, we return to the nonexistence we arose from . Imagine being stranded in "heaven" having to stay conscious for trillions of years , you'll probably become a drooling vegetable in a couple thousand years.
I would not assume that. We experience time with our human mind in one way now, but there is no guarantee that time exists in the same way when our body no longer exists. Also, just because we don't remember what happened before our birth does not mean our consciousness didn't exist. I don't think we should assume that what we currently experience with our 5 senses right now is an accurate representation of the totality of reality.
@Dazedandconfusedforsolong It's always a pleasure having a discussion on such channels. It's basically a funnel for intellectuals , be it professionals or troubled people. You are spot on , time as we perceive it is beyond flawed and not only due to our psychological or sensory limitations or our size and relativistic position/speed. In it's essence time is a function of position, gravity, and relative speed+ E density , it both couses gravity as a function of its diference between separate points in space populated by matter posesing a certain mass and in turn it regulates itself by the function of gravity it itself brings on ,which also bends space , thus space/time and all the conplex math requring stuff like "Christoffel symbols system" just for our GPS to work. However, if our consciousness is to be significantly altered or our perceptions, we will no longer be ourselves , not even a separate "program" like copy. Existence for the individual will still end. About previous existence, even if all the information was passed onto our new "physical" form, we would still be a copy , a separate system . And if its being witheld and only our neurological wiring/potential is somehow duplicated , it would be like comparing two different movies because they happen to be on the same model SSD.
Thank you! In general, in my opinion, someone who did not get top grades in high school or college may have the potential to be an excellent doctor/psychiatrist; however significant studying is an important aspect of becoming a doctor. Peter Goertz
Do you have any suggestions for an adult student who already has a business undergrad degree and a Masters of Education, who wants to go back to school to get another Masters in (non-clinical) General Psychology?

Death:Extrememly sleepy.
I appreciate how you always incorporate the spiritual aspect of life; I used to think it was silly but I’ve since learned it is far from … ty

This is a hard subject to broach. Thanks for addressing this!
Thank you Sandra!

Love your videos! I’m a student with a 2.5 GPA switching to Pre-Med for psychiatry with no work experience. Should I even pursue medical school?😕
Thank you!

I don’t have any specific suggestion. In general it is possible for people to be happy and successful if they change careers. Peter Goertz
