I sealed the bottoms with Minwax Polycrylic and used a black matte tray to display them. I did not use a dishwasher safe sealer as these are for decorative purposes, but they can still be hand washed without ruining the bottoms. videos, this also helps support my channel and art journey. • Acrylic POURING on GLA...

    Have you tried using the bakeable acrylic paints for this? No sealer is needed and they're top rack DW safe. Beautiful

      @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I'm aware of the various techniques but because they're for decorative purposes only, it wasn't necessary. Thank you for the suggestion though. 🖌🙂

    Question: why do you seal the bottoms of the wine glasses in varnish instead of resin😊? I love how they turned out🥰❤️👍🏻!! I’m going to try this too😊👍🏻!!

    • @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns
      @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I used varnish because it's also a sealer, and resin is not necessary for this application, although it is a great option. I'm glad you like the results. 🖌🙂🥂

    Super cool! I love the glam ease of this project! I have a question for you-> Would this work using UV resin & UV light to set? I'm curious to know if maybe you have tried!

    Varnish with Minwax? You mean the polycrylic? Did you dilute first? I’ve used it that way on paintings.

    • @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns
      @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I did not apply any adhesion, the paint will stay no problem. I did apply two layers of Minwax Polycrylic varnish to seal it, but these are "decorative" only. ☺

    how would you do it if the wine glasses had a dip on the bottom, I want to do some large wine glasses but they have a dip on the bottom.

    • @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns
      @ShannonGibsonArtDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never tried a dip with a lip on the bottom because I don't think it would turn out. However, all I can suggest is to try it and see if you like it. If not, wash the paint off right away, sometimes in fluid art the learning comes from experimenting, and testing on one glass won't hurt anything. Thank you for watching.☺🥂

    • @patriciahogg5763

      Add paint directly go the bottom of the glass. Use a minimal amount of paint (avoid puddles)… swirl paint to cover glass bottom… voila…
