Lift the pan from the heat before pouring in the batter and that will prevent the uneven browning on the 1st side cooked.

OMG! That's the cutest vanilla bottle I've ever seen. Wish I had about 10 of them. Not to use, just to collect. LOL

I used a fork and it still turned out perfect no lumps, I was looking for a crepe recipe after I lost my mom's and they turned out tasting so much similar to hers.. I watched several videos and decided to go with this recipe and so happy I did.. I also did not use the vanilla- best crepe recipe on TH-cam, simple yet delicious 😋

growing up in germany, my mother would make stacks of them (also made us stacks of potato pancakes!!), we would often just sprinkle sugar on the crepes/pfannkuchen... roll them up and bite into them... the crunch of the sugar and the taste of the delicious crepe... heaven!!what a treat after we came home from school!!

I’ve done a few recipes over the past 2 weeks. Just tried this one. It was one of the easiest and they came out great. I also didn’t use a hand blender or immersion blender. Just a fork and whisk. Great recipe. Thought the vanilla would be overpowering but it’s not at all and the butter didn’t really congeal at all. Def use this one again. Thanks!

As a chef since 1976, I personally wouldn't cook it like this, because of the people watching don't have you kinds of tools and there is no point of buying new materials for specific dishes, but this recipe does work and if done with love can come out like a masterpiece.

As an experienced pancake maker I have some remarks on this video. There are very different kind of pancake dough. I personally prefer one made of flower, eggs (lot of them), salt and mineral water. No sugar, milk, butter or any flavor is added.
My main remark concerns the way that dough is poured into the pan. Always use large spoon for pouring and pour it only once, no adding of dough is allowed. When the pan is really hot, meaning VERY hot, put a little of oil in it and spread it by moving the pan, and then pour dough into it, starting on the one edge. Move the pan and pouring spoon in the same time until the whole pan is covered with dough. That procedure makes pancake even, round and very thin. When the upper side of poured dough becomes dry, put a drop of oil on the top and carefully turn pancake over. After a few seconds it will be over.
I always make a big pile of the pancakes that can be enjoyed hot as well as cold ones. They are neutral taste meaning that they can be filled with something sweet as jam, cream, fresh cheese etc., or with something sour as mixture of sliced ham, cheese, pickles and some seasoning.
We always consider a day with pancakes as a kind of family holiday!

You realize are talking methodically about pancakes as if they were soufflé.
"pour it only once. No adding of dough is allowed" So what happens if someone does add dough?

@@andiwaslikeyea It is a kind of very delicate food and for that reason you pour dough only once, until the pan is fully covered with very thin dough. You can add the dough, but pancake will be uneven, some areas would be thin and some thick and raw. It is OK if you like that way.
