- Along with the internal scenic elevator, this is the first known scenic/panoramic elevator in Singapore. Originally a Hitachi from the late 1970s, it had round touch sensitive buttons, analog floor indicators and a bullet shaped car before it was slightly changed with squarish top and bottom ends. In 2005, KONE modernized all the elevators in the building. This elevator's interior was also refurbished; I remember it used to be quite grotty with rubber flooring before the mod.
It features Revive Delta Thinline fixtures with gold variant buttons not commonly seen in other KONE Delta installations. Sadly the chime appears to have broken. Unlike the internal elevator, this one doesn't serve the 7th and 8th floor as the machine room sits on 7. Didn't even bother to film the internal one as it is super busy and difficult to film alone.

Its amazing kone didnt replace these back then
Despite its age these are still holding up quite well unlike the ones at Orchard Towers where they are basically neglected and undermaintained like the building itself. Hopefully all the elevators here will last for another ten years.
The internal one was really busy even at 9pm, likely due to its central location
And also it serves the rooftop car park as well as medical centre, making it even more busier.
Hopefully they'll preserve this one forever. Cuz...you know, not many building owners would attempt to preserve elevators with historical values. Case in point, the current Mac Mohan in Yogyakarta which used to be a former movie theater. First ever scenic in Yogyakarta, installed in the 80s, removed between 1997-early 2000s thanks to the financial crisis which forced the closure of the cinema and (somehow) the removal of the elevator despite the top floor and the former theater now being occupied by a church.
Let's see in the next 20 years, will it survive or not.
I filmed this lift back in August 2022.
The former Mitsubishi at Bukit Timah Plaza was also from 1978.
Yes but the Lucky Plaza ones were more widely acclaimed even on old newspaper articles, probably because of the location of the building.
i guess it is Kone delta
* facepalm * It IS Delta
If you really want to be pedantic, it's a ReVive... Which is basically Delta in everything but name only.
