You won’t find many churches singing it like this (which is too bad…I love it done this way), so this approach is terrific! I have been a Music Director and choir director for years, and I love the bluesy spin - it seems more in keeping with the words being sung. Anyway, Gabriel is divine singing this (pun intended!). I think his commanding voice is so well-suited for Gospel, and he is an ardent Christian, so he really goes to town on this one. You know, R&B is really his wheelhouse, so anytime he sings it, he really brings it. One of my all-time favorite Portuguese covers that he does to perfection is an R&B number called, “Fim de Tarde”. He just nails it with virtuosity. Please react to this one! Another favorite of mine, is “And I’m telling You I’m not going”, a BIG theatrical anthem of sorts done recently by Jennifer Hudson. Just not intended for men, but, of course, Gabriel CONQUERS it, leaving me breathless every time. And finally (for now), I love his take on the recent Michael Buble cover, “Feelin’ Good”. These are all steller performances by Gabriel. You will be blown out of the water by all of them! Keep it up…I love your eloquent reactions to the best singer in the world and my hero!
