  • What are releases means? When do we provide it? As a Structural Engineer when we should give. How practically on-site detailing needs to be executed. Postpartum of Releases once for all.

    This precisely is missing in academics, even at PG level, almost across all universities. No one discusses Moment Distribution Method, Direct Stiffnes Method in the context of entire structure. All the concepts of rotations, stiffness are coming out of these fundamental methods which are incorporated in the software. There is no better place to learn the Structual Engineering than Econstruct. Hat's off to Sandeep sir and team for taking the initiative to teach real Civil Engineering and train the Engineers to become Engineer in "True Sense".

    Sir, how one can know by what percent end reaction release/moment release is required at that particular section...?
    Thanks for providing this informative video 🙏

    Incase of secondary and primary beam where we have put the top rebars of secondary beam ?
    Is it up or down of primary beam top rebars ?

    Sir if one end of beam is resting on minor axis of shear wall and another on major axis, now if I have to release, at which end it should be released and why???

    51:35 if we provide extra rebars in the middle portion and as well as end portions, would the beam be overly reinforced or not?

    • @prathap3077
      @prathap3077 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He is talking about transfer girder Beam which supporting a floating column.
      Compare to normal beam the size of the girder is much bigger, then how over reinforcement ll happen.

    Satyajit Ghate (VNIT Nagpur)
    1) Are torsion modifiers recommended in beams or columns?
    2) Should we release a beam framing into the minor direction of a shear wall?
    3) Shouldn't the transfer girders supporting shear walls/columns be designed for the shear wall/columnn Major and Minor bending moments? because under Earthquake these moments are going to be induced.
    4) If shear walls are connected with coupling beams, they are called coupled shear walls. If we release the coupling beams the walls behave like a cantilever shear wall. Is this type of release recommended, because generally in practice people do this so as to avoid the high shear force these beams experience.
