This is a famous and highly respected college, marching band in the United States, Florida. The college is what we called historically black, college or university, and the name of the school is Florida architectural and mechanical university, or FAMU. They call the band the Marching 100 and their standards for musicianship and athleticism are among the top in the country. I have four friends that have personally been in that band when they were in college.

I just started watching The Common Man videos and I love them! I can watch these for hours. These men have so much love and compassion. Some of their reactions are so childlike. I just love them.

Great episode. I attended another HBCU, called North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Its marching band is called the Blue and Gold Marching Machine (BGMM). A&T is the largest HBCU in America.

That's likely FAMU vs BC-U, their arch-rival. The Florida Classic is played in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Florida. This game is played the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It was also a few years ago at the least since there are MEAC markings on the field, but FAMU is in the SWAC now. I think BC-U is as well but I'm not sure. I used to live near there and the traffic on John Young Parkway was at a stand still after that game even though there is more than 1 way out. Normally a drive to or from the stadium would be about 10 minutes, tops, after the game such a drive is over an hour. It's about 2 miles give or take. 1 mile = 0.6 kilometers.

The University Of Florida, the "Gators" (whose mascot is the alligator), is located in Gainesville, Florida. Two different schools! How hard is it to get basic facts straight???
