I just started to watch the video, I'm at minute 0:58, the 3 most expensive cards: 1. Dark Ritual (tournament) 2. Murkyide (tournament) 3. Snapcaster mage (Hatsune Miku) Great videos
Importantly the Eternal Weekend top 8 prize cards (crop rotation and tinker) have yet to hit the market, but last year the top 8 mental misstep was somewhere around 5k
the angel is the most beautiful card from the list, I saw one in person the other day and the crazy foiling with the golden sparks makes you want to stare at the card all day… maybe that is why people want it more than the vampire
Pulled a Hazel and sold it for 100. That's a mistake I won't remake. At the same time a friend buys a Bumbleflower for 100 and we thought he was crazy. Good lessons.
I sold my LOTR party tree serial number 1 of 100 for 1.7 million. Martin Freeman bought it from me privately. He wanted it pretty badly as that is where the adventure started.
@@johnlachman5121 forgot to write other than that one lol as it’s 2 numbers above the last lair card in the marvel drop, so looks like possibly 2 others but I think that might be the only secret card the abundant one.
Hmmmm, whats your thoughts on a store just straight up selling their Store Championship card? Just got shown a Void Winnower the other day and the person aquired it by being friends with the owner and trading in a heap of cards from Bloomburrow and Duskmourn. I was pretty dark on it, personally. I wanted that card too. Just curious on your thoughts.
@@brendans1983 it's obnoxious if they're not using it as a trophy like it's intended, but they're welcome to use those promos however they want to per wizards, I believe
@@JakeandJoelareMagicI had a feeling it might be something like that. Obnoxious hits the nail on the head, it instantly made the card 'easy to acquire' and completely devalued it. To me, anyway.
As someone who follows sports cards and mtg cards to say “like sports cards” in terms of having too many numbered cards is false. There are certain hype players that will end up with over a hundred 1/1 rookie cards and if the player is good enough those will almost all dwarf every price on this list. Do people care about 1/10 cards of players that see no time on the field, no , but the best players command prices that mtg card collectors can’t conceive
@@Beaudunk yep. I have sold down to a few commander decks. Friend of mine sold every fat pack he collected from when they started making them. He was like “i just cant anymore”.
Anyone crying cards should not be expensive get over it , go buy a proxy, if thier are zero expensive cards the game will die as wizards will not make enough money. Kids crying, thier needs to be way more expensive chase cards, thats the fun in opening boxes, hitting that expensive card
If no cards are expensive mtg wouldn't die? Magic would have to lower prices on products resulting in more ppl buying from mtg instead of singles. Ppl wanna buy packs for fun. Having 100+ doller cards doesn't matter to 95% of the playerbase
To say that Llanowar elf is the best treatment is laughable. No offense but that does not look like a magic card at all. No where close the best treatment
I got all the cards i wanted and only spent one hundred dollars this year on magic with quality proxies. The rest I put into real serious investments to get a real return. I can get what I want in magic and more, but mtg is still woke and design is still bland. I'm still around for the lolz playing, entertainment, watching fauxe investors timmys and consoomers (including youtube content creators)
Idea for content 10/10, execution 2/10 next time dont include "trophy cards" in lists like this. Its like saying whats the most expensive pokemon card obviously the 1 of 1's given as prizes. Also this was absurdly long. Could of been put in a youtube short but was a nearly 40 minute video.
Yeah, I was expecting it to be about cards from sets released this year, RVR-FDN. The video was entertaining, but the title should have been “Most Expensive Chase Cards Of 2024”
Guys, for full time magic content creators I'm disappointed. Not even a live Wenesday stream? Drip shop on terrible days like Sunday nights or week days? I'd love to participate in everything you guys are doing but the days suck and the times are too late.
We're on break this week and next for the holiday. (Side note, this week is so we could get together in the same place and shoot some videos for y'all!) Our next drip show is black Friday, hope to see you there!

That's really good insight!! We haven't seen that one IRL yet

Glad you guys made a list for the upcoming bans.
Mabel was way cheaper, but an absolute must for the mouse deck I built

I sold my FND doubling season for $144! Woo!!
Yall have the best sponsors, I swear
We agree!
9:12 Classic Tanuki 😂😂😂
I believe Rhystic Study anime art and foiling is around 700. I could be wrong though! Great list!
That was from the end of last year!
@ that’s right! Apologies, thank you both for the content!
Still can’t find any info about the marvel lairs having a super secret card? If so what is it?
Abundant Groot (Abundant Growth) is the chase card

@brendans1983 it was the same back in the day with "store champion" playmats
some insane foil future border?
I pulled the gix. Great to pull!
why no serialized shocks on this list?
We didn't include anything serialized
@@JakeandJoelareMagic I mean the non foil text less urza's saga is way up there.

My guess is the Fallout Mana Vault
Were was Dark Ritual?
Jake and Joel are the Beastie Boys of MTG!
no Abundent Groot?
That was number 24. If I remember correctly, it was somewhere past the top 20
Something Something anime art..
Most expensive card this year?
Arena wildcard
Most of Those look like Pokemon cards
sounds like a win win to me
@ or you could just collect pokemon

Expensive!? 😮 🤦♂️
1) ulamog selerized 2) steam vents retro foil selerized 3) pokemon bunny from blumburrow

The new FND cards give off big proxie energy to me.

Fractured foils are dogshit, leans way to far into looking like Pokemon over magic. I hope this trend ends real soon.
My most expensive were the crypt and lotus i bought before the banning.
