love this, thank you for your insight. i picked up this book randomly in my early 20s and had such an experience. its one of the few books i had to read slowly, intentionally, as i savored the feelings. i had no one to speak to about the book and no one seemed to have heard of it around me at the time. it’s so great to see someone else with the same passion! makes me want to pick it up again 😊
Saw the movie and broke me in half but bought the book since they’re almost always waaaay better… on my to be read still but love you take on the book. I guess I’m a Kathy. Somehow I think bad things will never happen to those beings I love but then reality strikes…
I think we all have a bit of Ruth and Kathy in us, and while the world pushes us to be more Ruth-like, we constantly struggle against the current to bring out our inner Kathy.
Who you are is what you love. This line had me thinking the entire night.
