I did not understand it then but since 2012, I have realized over the years watching her performances that she basically broke boundaries of genres. First few years being in the mainstream, she played along with what her contract asked for, mass appeal ballad songs. But as soon as she was big enough to have a say on what direction she wants her music to go - around 2015 after winning music awards - she went back to her roots doing music in the style that no one has heard before. A creative genius that transcends divisive genres

I can still remember watching this on TV and I was in awe of her audition. That audition was just 1-2 hours away from my city. KZ also did her original 'Nag-iisa Na Naman' on BBC Radio London. It's in Filipino, no English caption but you can search for the English translation of the lyrics.

This is the time when CHARICE realized she wasn’t the most talented girl after all, until KZ came along and has very unique talent that no artist in the world I came across... still CHARICE has that title though as the “most talented girl” dubbed by OPRAH she is really amazing when it comes to Vocal I love her Voice then... until she became Jake somehow her vocal not the same anymore, in my observation though...
From that humble beginning, now doing the soundtrack of the latest Disney movie “Raya and the last Dragon”, we are very happy for what she has achieved so far. My favourite video in TH-cam is her performance of “Feeling Good” with Jaya. Please check it out too.
