Growing up in Church it is easy to believe "working" equates to being a good Christian. Much like the Older Son felt "robbed" because he wasn't celebrated and he done well u like his brother. What a danger when we begin to compare how good we are because we don't do certain sins!!!! The world puts labels on sin. To a Holy God all sin separates us from him. I appreciate the reminder God loves the Pharisees too!!! We all need Jesus!!! The Gospel is not just for prodigals. That hit home. I use to say I didn't have a testimony because I didn't do drugs or alcohol I or smoke (the big obvious sins I once took pride in. God forbid.) oh but that hidden pride inside me that people didn't see.... thank you God for the blood of a Jesus that washes me clean!!! Not by works lest any man should boast!
Wow the explanation of the prodigal son was really great. This whole time I was focused on the obvious “the prodigal son” but I never really paid attention to the older brother. Just in amazement right now.
Jesus loves people, not sin. He came to save those who were lost.. The fact that they were scribes and pharisees etc....All of us need Him including the wealthy.
Day 5 - Reading and episode COMPLETED! Pastor Manny - thanks for shattering (with Scripture) one of the sacred cows that I've seen in all my years in the church and Kingdom in general. As a boy, I remember hearing in church that God doesn't want you to have much or you won't love Him - you have to choose. Great Bible teaching (including from you) reinforces that we can have Christ AND cash! Real estate, robes, and rings - I'm glad Luke recorded this! I love the clues and nuggets with today's reading. Wealth having you (greed, idolatry) versus you having wealth. My wife and I are committed to using wealth for the upbuilding of God's Kingdom.
Happy Sunday; as Christians we do obey laws and instructions yet our hearts are far from God. And we measure sin by actions. Yet in Gods eyes; ALL sin is the same. Anger, Hate for others is as BAD as Murder. Lord please help us all.
DAY 5 Reading & Lesson completed ✅ 🤗🔥🕊️👏🏾🙌🏾 My takeaways: 🎶🎶AMAZING GRACE, HOW SWEET THE SOUND, THAT SAVED A WRETCHED LIKE ME 👏🏾🕊️ ❤️🔥I ONCE WAS LOST BUT NOW I AM FOUND, WAS BLIND BUT NOW I SEE 🎶
Done! Really loved the context of wealth in today’s video. It is helping me to always remember who Luke is writing to and question why he says certain things!
Day 5 ✅ I am blessed already by this plan and your teaching Manny!🙏🏼🙌🏼 thank you father for this plan to read your word for 365 days and understand your word more intimately.
I’m so glad this reading plan and channel was shared with me! It was put on my spirit to read the entire Bible this year and these videos help so much with comprehending what I’m reading. Thank you!
Done - Day 5. The conversation about wealth was great and hits home ! Also, checking my heart and how intimate my relationship is with God during different seasons of my life .
Day 5. I learned that the father addresses the older son as a teknon (immature child) rather than huios (which is a mature child and is used throughout the passage to describe the sons) meaning his father saw his actions as childish. Also, the older son crying about a party as if he also didn't get his inheritance is crazy work. On the story of Lazarus, in verse 31 , is Jesus referring to how even his death and resurrection will not be enough to persuade the pharisees?

Amen bro I think the use of it is truly the key. Is it selfish gains or to share with others?
The sermon God Loves Pharasees is great! It's a good reminder for everyone to continually check your own heart and to love others!
